Oct 2005, LG Orange 8x@12x (Prodisc R03), seen quite a few posts about this media being sub-par though but so far so good here.

Fresh burn and scanned,

Techno Pride, that scan is awesome for 1.5 year old disc.

Any special care given to the storage of this disc?

Ah, that's really music to my ears cos I want to know which media can last without special care. If all media needs to be pampered with special care to survive, it's going to be a logistic headache after a while once you collected more and more discs.

Scans of my Imation 8x DVD-R (CMC MAG. AE1) discs. These discs were burned either in Dec05 or Jan06 and a scan was taken immediately after burning. Another set of scans was done yesterday to see if they have degraded.

First disc - Jan06

First disc - Jul06

Second disc - Dec05

Second disc - Jul06

Slightly higher PIE levels, but otherwise the discs are still fine. However, these are not that old.

Same thing, but with Ricoh 8x DVD-R (CMC MAG. AE1) discs. There is something different about these discs from Imation's version. Burn quality was nowhere as good on all burners I tried. Also, my LG GSA-4163B could not burn them at 8x - trying to burn them at 8x resulted in an instant coaster.

First disc - Jan06

First disc - Jul06

Second disc - Jan06

Second disc - Jul06

About the same but the first disc has increased quite significantly. No idea why. As you can see, burn quality is also much worse than with the Imations above.

Took your caution and tested my own Fujifilm TY also of batch 1133, results seem worrying indeed. Stored in cakebox, no special care given.

Sept 05 freshly burned,

Scanned today,

Freshly burned and scanned 20/11/05,

Seems not all 1133 suffers from the same burned dye degradation behaviour pattern cos I have now scanned other overspeed 1133 burns and they do not show the same degradation patterns,

But the 1133 Fujifilm disc above exhibits edge problems (?degradation) which I am beginning to see in a few of my TYs as well.

For completeness, kg's thread must be mentioned for inclusion here,

LG ProdiscR03 8x@12x orange top media, burned Oct '05 scanned again today.

Love this media cos I got it cheap, burns well even when at overspeed but too bad, can't find it anymore these days. Highly underrated stuff, wonder if the current Fujifilm 8x ProdiscR03 or 16x ProdiscR05 is as good and lasting - anyone tried the Fujis?

TG001162, so my YUDEN T02 is batch 1162 right?

0419 is the date and year code isn't it?

I don't know for a fact that the stamper code number (TGxxxxxx) is a batch number, but I suspect it is. I think it is actually the number of the stamper used to create the discs. The 4 digit code after is definitely not the date though, otherwise, my defective discs with 1701 were made in 2017. :)

Mitsubishi Purple (yes, that gaudy fugly thing) Super-Azo 2x -R, Dec 2003. Looks like this is a blatant commercialized thread pushing old obsolete media according to some insecure overly sensitive clown. lol

Info shows that it was burned on a TDK 4x burner, now note carefully that I am pushing old obsolete DVD burners too. :D

Seems to be of better quality than my dying Verbatim 2x -R discs with the same MID (no Super-Azo mentioned though).

Ricoh Gold top 8x +R, burned November 2005. Suspicious looking edge quality.

MAC: what skin are you using for winxp? Does it require a 3rd party application?
