Got the one from HDDoors, brand is Hafale, from Germany. 4x AA batteries. 1st 10 months ok, then started to suck battery life. Lucky within warranty. They changed the motherboard inside and now 2 years on, still ok.
(finger, code, cards, tag only, no wifi, no iris, no voice)

Easy, just don't and train your memory not to forget.
Dude have you heard of aging?

Also, digital locks allows one-time access to guests, provide logs, convenience of not bringing keys out, don't need to give keys to tenants, revoke anyone's access anytime, etc. There are owners who value these features.

no experience in digital locks but do get a reliable one. I heard of people getting locked out. Worst case was when a family got locked in. This is funny and dangerous at the same time. What is there was a fire and cannot get out…

There's always two sides to a coin, see the features suit you or not then use, no right or wrong. I like both digital or old school padlock and key

my first digital lock is from a brand called epic. using double A battery. at the beginning, it can last for a couple of months but after years of usage, its eating battery for lunch and have to change after 3 weeks or so. but it lasted at least for 7 to 8 years of usage

After that changed to a brand call midea, also using double a battery. this lasted for 1 yr plus or so then it went haywire and locked in.

This year change back to a newer model of epic brand with the rechargeable battery.

so far so good. Epic brand quite stable. When you change digital lock, u take a photo of your lock on the door and send to the seller, they will be able to recommend which model will works for you.

Ok thanks for the info!! :D

After 4 years with my August lock, decided to change new lock :o

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...prime-day-digital-smart-lock-hoot-kym.7163726

took me Just 15minutes to replace & install with a screwdriver

My old August Smart Lock & Kwikset deadbolt

My consideration tick boxes:
Remote control access via WiFi (guest control)
Local Bluetooth app control
Local access (Pin)
External AA batteries (no inbuilt battery degradation)
Mechanical key override/backup (no need expensive locksmith)
Easy DIY, future replacement / retrofit
Google home integration

Cons:
No geofencing auto unlock feature (kinda miss this from my August lock)
No fingerprint feature

Overall satisfied with its functions, especially at just.....

No need those fancy features & branding at $500-$1k++ :o
