Not taking Tommy ST comment out of context, but isn't his indirect slander against "majority community" as being "racist" an act against racial harmony - an offence under the Penal Code ?

That's a really racist statement lol
But Tommy is MIW lackey so whatever they say goes
Feel bad for local Indian bros

You forget - GE2011 was a watershed moment for the PAP, not because of concern over race or nationality or language but SGreans had enough the unpopular open door population policy, housing and cost of living. None of that is country nor race specific.

A decade later today, we see national stress boiling on surface, all related to race and nationality - unlike 10 years ago . In today's context, we saw how gov lax immigration practices and CECA deal impacts SGreans directly in not only health and jobs, but how CECA has driven more social tension from within the Little Red Dot....

Policy don't just exist in a vacuum itself. The influx of foreigners is the result of said policy. And what was the main influx at that time? The tiongs and pinoys. Ask any of the other old birds in this forum and they can tell you the same thing. Whole pages of the forum complaining about the presence of tiongs and pinoy.

The dislike largely correlates to whichever the gahment decides to bring in more of at a particular time or whatever incidents that happened during the time period. Now that many of the tiongs have gone back due to better prospects being offered at home, the dislike has lessened somewhat.

The gahment thought that sinkies would be more accepting of cecas than the tiongs but they were dead wrong. They were likely pushed by the ceca gahment to let in more as well.

Just because we dislike ceca now doesn't mean we have no problems with bringing in more tiongs/pinoy/etc to replace them. We don't like having so many foreigners as a whole which is why we are against the idea of 6.9m/10m. If they switch out the cecas to bring in more of the tiongs again, we will dislike it as well.

I would say that the decrease in tiongs coming over is also due to govt policy.
Our elites see tiongs as low class. Just look at the attitude locals have towards tiongs. A "We are better than you" look while subservient to CECA.
Also why we have so many jiak katang kids and proud of being unable to speak Chinese?
Isn't that racism too? Hah

Simple - Tommy is a Peranakan who made no effort in listening to Chinese-speaking SGrean.
This explains why his ST forum comment conveniently blame the "majority community" of being "racist"....His writing exposes how little he knows about the ground feel....a complete lost of touch with reality..

Another fun fact about 2011 GE result was not because of immigrants from China or relation with the PRC, but rather the policy of SG's population policy and the cost of living and lost of opportunities to FT/FW. That was why gov lost its 1st GRC against the groundswell view that the PAP has lost its bearing in placing Singaporeans 1st.
You’re trying to side step things here. During the 2011 election people we already irritated but that time it was more PRC than Indians because of the influx of unruly Chinese behaviours.

don’t need to fun fact because it is not accurate

Instead of looking hard and discussing the bad effects of open leg policy. And asking what the ppl are feeling.
Every week this govt is implying we are racist and xenophobic to others. Don't be fooled by the words of ministers and MSM, telling lies and brainwashing is their forte.

yalor ... pap loose imports for gdp policies, may bring jobs, but we are working longer hours, living in smaller spaces, everywhere so crowded, all kind of culture cells forming, still 9% gst!

like what is the point? go to 6.9m, rich gets richer, rest of us suck it in small space sex/pcc.... :o

We can tell some of them due to their features while others we may not.
But if any of them misbehave, sinkies hv to stand united to enable them to show respect to their host.
But be wary as even the local might start to follow them instead of being united with sinkies.

He is not wrong. People think CECA means North Indians, but there are quite a few indian s'poreans who are hindi. I have personally seen some of my own colleagues asking one of our indian staff if she is local when I go for lunch with my group of colleagues. If people are so in tune, they won't be asking such stupid questions whenever they see an indian. There are idiots here who question if Indians are new citizens whenever they see an article on them, be it positive or negative, so don't act like you all know everyone.
