Just for clarification, derrick's issue is the ASUS router giving him problem, while confession's issue is the Zhone having issues, if i am understanding the problems correctly, right?

I'm now getting 1.75 mbps download and 322 mbps upload.
Super weird. This is at 12:16 am. connected on LAN.

WiFi is the same speed except lower upload probably.

Earlier about 10pm I'm at 600+ mbps download and upload.
Hougang area.

Hi Viewqwest, i have just recently recontracted again on the latest 1GB plan under the IT Show 2017 promotion. While i have no problem with the service (me aint power user), but i am abit disheartened to see the below.

I sincerely hope that you can revert back to the "premium" provider and charge a premium for your broadband. No gimmicks in your "Promo" please.

1) It says free 3 months is on 22nd 23rd and 24th month. Does it means if i decide to recontract again, I wont get the 3 months free? I can understand if you shift it around like 12th 18th 21st month. But seriously on 22-24th month???

2) You advert free 6-months of Eleven sports network. But upon signing up i realize there's a contractual period of 12 months. This is again a moment of ?!?!?!?.

I bite the bullet and recontract with Viewqwest again despite some complains in this forum of the downtime, etc. But this "promotion" that you have really kill off the confidence i have with you.

Please do note that i am not trying to say i felt cheated or what as everything is spelled out nicely under the recontract form. I just feel that if you really want to run a promo, make it a genuine one.

Totally agree with you on your post. Since their Sep 2016 promo, I've been giving the feedback that their package for re-contract has been the same as new-signups, and the response given is that the marketing team will look into this. Subsequent promos just seems to be on a downhill trend, not to mention the multiple outages they had in the past few months (though I was one of the lucky ones not to be affected).

For the Eleven Sports Network, you can choose to opt out upon recontracting. Have already confirmed on this with them.

In this world there is no free lunch. VQ became shittier and shittier ever since they launched their whole VQ TV nonsense, then started "giving out" ASUS routers every time you recontract.

Last time when the very first few Raptor plans came out, and the following upgrades, VQ was the best because they focused on their core business, which was you know, getting a great internet experience for their discerning customers. No frills, no nonsense.

Back then they had VPN, actual VPN on your port 2 to an USA IP, not a shitty DNS based one that you have now. They also had IPv6, which they killed off because Zhone stopped supporting IPv6. So much for "being cutting edge".

Then every thing went downhill from there onwards if you ask me.

They started pushing out their Apple TV, then VQ TV, then VQ TV 4K, changing what was a real VPN to a fake DNS based VPN.

IPv6 support got cut. Prices went down, but only if you recon 2 years, and you had to take the "free routers", which come on, is basically paid by you. Do you really need new routers every 2 years?

Then they also started their stupid e-Store that at first offered cheaper prices for members, but now the prices are like lol, RRP, some are higher prices than RRP in fact.

Then the whole Netflix saga, they put so much support there to try and get USA Netflix on going, guess where that manpower is coming from? Is it no surprise that certain maintenance upkeep processes probably got skipped because of manpower shortage to support all these VQTV frills?

Now prices cheaper, but again instead of a 2 year contract, become a 2 year upfront contract. It's like they are afraid of people jumping ship mid way and just want you to pony up the cash.

If VQ really wanted to be great again, they should just ditch tying up their "promos" with their VQTV and "free routers".

Offer users and power users actual no frills internet at the best price point. Hell, charge a "premium" if they must, if they can offer stability and routing like what they did in their hay days.

No wifi confirm is router issue. Dont know about speed. But after hard reset of router now i dont even have internet access so will need to RMA the damn thing next wk & see how.

A new set should logically solve the wifi problem (no reason it doesnt) so if the speed is still sh*tty then must be zhone issue liao.

I also don't know how to actually get USA IP, I should have a freedom vpn subscription. The manual has nothing on this...

Nothing new. Ppl like me who have been with VQ from the start have seen things go down the gutter. They used to be one of the most expensive but ppl were happy to pay cos speed was super fast & consistent & service was good.

Then disruptions started happening more & more often. Speed also became unpredictable. One a good day u get close to 900 mbps on wired connection, on a sh*tty day u are lucky to get 500. And when u call sometimes u cant even get to speak to someone.

Why are you hanging on and not jump ship to spare yourself the headache and venting ? How many here are true VQ subs or how many are keyboard warriors with a different agenda?

Ya, because only true blue VQ subs praise VQ right?

Everyone that says VQ has problems means must change ISP or are just keyboard warriors with agendas?

The only reason I'm still staying with VQ is because of torrent speeds, because no other ISPs come close when VQ's network isn't down.

You happy now?

So if I tell you I stay Aljunied and don't like the town council's shitty upkeep, I must move out or I'ma PAP voter with agenda?

Go get a grip of yourself lah.

I Register VQ in 2012 and in 4 years,

Can feel that the service has drop. In the 4 years, I notice that multiple time (weekday or weekend) in the early morning the network was very bad until I can't VPN back to office to provide support (standby). Had to use my mobile hotspot to connect at 2-4 AM. Try to call 24hrs support once at 3AM, nobody picking up.

so i switch ISP and 4 months so far had not encounter any issue VPN back office so far.

Actually, every one of us are sharing experiences of what we encountered, based on actual factual happenings, he is the only one always running in here asking us why we not jumping ship, then ask are we even subscribers, do we have hidden agendas.

You see what's happening? Who's the one having agendas with these type of accusatory tone offering zero constructive feedback? Who's the ones posting and getting their posts deleted? Not mine for sure.

In fact if VQ delete our posts and kept his instead, it would just look bad for VQ.
