1 thing i like abt FN is its dim dim
because they noe that at the era of 2016, angling a middle ground IT mall just doesn't work anymore, and so they stopped angling it as an IT mall entirely. If that is the case, why waste the $$$ to tear down and rebuild the mall. They should be spending $$$ to attract people over.
In fact with it's status as a clean mall, can easily be transformed into showrooms and tech concepts showcase.
i think it is the maid cafe?
design and tenant mix are different. The new Funan was built by top architects and developers who have no clue about the IT world or Nerd culture. It was just to showcase the architectural and building achievements for their own portfolio. From an architectural standpoint, the urban landscape looks unique and exciting compared to the bland yet practical design of the previous Funan. You guys need to study architecture![]()
Basically an architect's fap piece lah. He designing time, he must be damn highhhhhh ahhhh ahhhh ahhhhhhhhhAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHThe new Funan was built by top architects and developers who have no clue about the IT world or Nerd culture. it's not like retain original tenants will do well alsoAfter tearing down Singapore’s one and only IT specialist mall
(Don’t count Sim Lim that dinghy place),
They ngey ngey insert funny shops like love bonito
And try to make it “hip” with climbing wall...
How not to fail?
Shop mix must retain original feel in a modern way,
Not ngey ngey force something into a nostalgic mall.
I think the maid cafe opened in 2009 or 2010? Closed in end of 2013 according to their facebook.dun think its good biz though
How to move an entire mall to another location? It's not like they can put the building on wheels and transport.Should funan move to another location where there's high foot traffic ? Such as above outram mrt? Since outram itself serve as an interchange of sorts. Sure got high traffic
Last time demolish old funan should have relocated liao. Too late nowHow to move an entire mall to another location? It's not like they can put the building on wheels and transport.
They could have made it into another boring office building for the lawyers and politicians lor.Last time demolish old funan should have relocated liao. Too late now
The planners at ura shouldn't have kept it as white commercial site. How to move an entire mall to another location? It's not like they can put the building on wheels and transport.
They are waiting for economy to recover then tender for development of the site. Last time nex mall was also white site, attracted record breaking tender price. The planners at ura shouldn't have kept it as white commercial site.
Singapore urban planners have issue. They assume the residents disposable income are so high that they plan for amenities too closely.
Singapore lacks residential area and transportation node but as it's revenue or gdp generation is the lowest they tend to otherwise.
This planning plus our developers which seems to have more power than our land authority made it even worse.
Funan is already beside treasury building. They could have made it into another boring office building for the lawyers and politicians lor.
