He wouldn't even have travelled to Australia la if the government had not initially welcomed him with an exemption. In the end, he's the victim of a capricious aussie government that didn't keep its word.

Australia got no integrity to honor their exemption given to him in the first place.

If in the first place they didn't give him exemption, you think Djokovic will fly over? :s8:

Lure him to Australia then use their draconian laws to make an example of him

The government was the one that granted him the visa in the first place, on the basis of exemption due to previous infection. The facts didn't change after he arrived.

I think it is a case of federal gov vs state gov.

the facts in the declaration that the tennis superstar made became a pile of lies and yeah...i think it's a fact that the declaration wasn't made appropriately and why would 1 fault the government in view of the situation that developed?

He got lie meh? He never claim he was vaccinated, and he did get infected previously (which was the basis of the exemption).

honest mistake? did he declare his travel history appropriately? i duno...but his social media seems to suggest he has been in places like spain 2weeks before arrival into melbourne.

for the records, i stand neutral with regards to this saga...but i feel if u wanna enter the country who has very strict covid 19 measures to play in a tournament that is hosted by the country itself, one should respect the countries jurisdiction.

the government answers to his pple, not to an individual who's not even an australian to begin with. as for why tennis australia wanted him there, to think about it, it's all about the dollar and sense thingy isn't it? imagine a glam slam without all your top seeds...it wouldnt sound like a very successful tournament imo
