You may have to post the floor plan, with details of the location of the ONT, LAN ports in the rooms if any, and the planned placement location of the Archer BE805 if you opt for single router.

It all depends on the floor plan and placement.

Some floor plans make it nearly impossible to cover the full flat with decent WiFi performance.
it's okay. thanks for your suggestion. I just bite the bullet and go with the BT10. I not good enough to think so much. Just follow what experts like you recommend haha

I'm looking to upgrade my older notebooks with the Intel BE200 Wi-Fi 7 module, but I've run into a compatibility issue. The BE200 uses an E-key, while my notebooks have A-key M.2 slots.

Has anyone here tried a workaround or adapter solution to get around this? I’d love to hear your experience or suggestions.
Found this reddit thread and in the comments someone said the adapter worked with his notebook.

Not sure if this will work for your notebook.
BE200 doesn't work for most AMD systems and some notebooks have a whitelist for Wifi cards.

I’ll stick with my AX200 modules for now. I’m currently getting good speeds on Wi-Fi 6 with a 160MHz channel, so no rush to upgrade.

Same here.

We have 4 Acer laptops at home, only two are with WiFi 7. I have two USB WiFi 7 adapters (BE6500 rated) but they are not supporting 320MHz channel bandwidth so not really much faster than Intel AX200/AX201 WiFi 6 adapter.

1) 2017 model Acer Swift 3 (kind of retired), Intel Core i5-8250U CPU, 8GB/256GB, upgraded to Intel AX200, Windows 11 24H2. Fast enough, no desire to upgrade. Some of the plastics of the laptop is anyway falling apart.

2) 2021 model Acer Swift 3, Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, 16GB/512GB, built-in Intel AX201. Fast enough, no desire to upgrade. Dual boot Windows 11 24H2 and Linux.

3) Two 2024 model Acer Swift Go 14 laptops, Intel Core Ultra 125H CPU, 16GB/1TB, built-in Intel Killer BE1750 WiFi 7 adapter (Intel BE200 chipset based).

I have upgraded all my notebooks to AX200 Wi-Fi 6, even for a 2016 Thinkpad.

The main bottleneck for my notebooks right now is the RT-AX88U, which I’m using as my access point. Its LAN ports are limited to 1Gbps, so Wi-Fi speeds max out at around 940Mbps. If I connect my notebook to the RT-BE88U instead, I can hit speeds up to 1,600Mbps — pretty solid for a Wi-Fi 6 connection.

I don’t see much value in replacing the RT-AX88U with a low-end Wi-Fi 7 router, and the high-end ones are just too expensive for what would be, at best, only a marginal speed boost. I’ll consider upgrading to a Wi-Fi 7 router or access point when the price-to-performance ratio becomes more compelling. Yes, I am looking at some Chinese made/sold Wi-Fi 7 routers too.

M1 PWP Router Offer -- for existing M1 users, many of the offers are actuallly not good as you may be able to get things cheaper outside. I will say all the WiFi 6 and WiFi 6 mesh solutions are not really worth based on the pricing listed.

All the WiFi 7 offers seem to be decent, but then due to the dumping of free bunbled routers, often you may get cheaper price from Carousell (BNIB units).

Example:
TP-Link Archer BE230 -- usually below S$100 for BNIB units, below the PWP price of S$122
Tp-Link Archer BE805 -- usually below S$300 for BNIB units, below the PWP price of S$360
Asus RT-BE58U -- usually at similar pricing as the PWP price of S$122
Asus RT-BE92U -- usually at similar pricing as the PWP price of S$312

In the end, only two Asus ZenWiFi BT10 at S$504 (S$21 per month x 24 months) is a good deal. But it is okay to buy the above mentioned 4 WiFi 7 router as well if you do not want to go through the hassle of getting from outside (eg: may have a bit of issues with warranty).

I mention the following in the first page.
Other than Asus China WiFi 7 routers, it is a bit difficult to recommend China WiFi 7 routers now, at least not for the mid-range ones, since TP-Link HB710 (dumped by Starhub users, S$192 or lower) and Archer BE805 (dumped by M1 users, below S$300) local versions with 10G ports and 6GHz band can be pretty cost effective.

Asus China routers still have some advantages over other China routers like English UI and same HW/FW features as the global version (if there are global version counterpart). Just some minor behavior differences mentioned in the Asus WiFi 7/6E router thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/asus-wifi-7-and-wifi-6e-routers.6952409/#post-149441413

Asus China WiFi 7 router current pricing. I tend to only recommend Asus China RT-BE88U (high-end), RT-BE86U (mid-high, vertical form factor), TUF-BE6500 (mid-end) and TUF-BE3600 (low end).

I think Linksys is kind of de-emphasizing Singapore market.

1) If you look at Linksys Global Website (Singapore website is gone), almost all the products have been EOLed except a few Mesh solution and Unmanaged switches.

Velop Pro 7
Velop Pro 6E
Velop Micro 7
Velop Micro 6

You can also look at Linksys EOL page.
https://www.linksys.com/pages/linksys-product-end-of-life

2) But they still sell some product in the Shopee and Lazada official Store. No WiFi 7 product though.

Velop 6E (AXE5400)
Altas 6 (AX3000)
Atlas Pro 6 (AX5400)
Velop AX4200 (AX4200)

I just re-contract m1 6gbps and chose the free Asus Be92U, just sold it for $280. I'm planning to get the Be88u. So what's the point of having only 1 sfp+ port when in the end you have to use copper from ont to router. At least you could use sfp adapter to get direct single mode cable Fibre connection to device to reduce the heat(which I heard from reddit 10gbps connection will consume around 5w of power.

TP-Link China TL-7DR6430 dual band WiFi 7 BE6400 router, single 2.5G port, three 1G ports, using the above-mentioned Realtek chipset (not really recommended). The main good thing is the cheap price, at RMB 249 usual price and RMB 199 launch offer price.

Hi experts,

I just signed up for a 10gbps plan and have a Asus BE-88U on the first floor with TUF AX-5400 on the second floor as a AIMesh router.

The TUF AX-5400 router is connected through LAN to my son's desktop. However the signal between the 2 routers are usually weak -82dbm so he's not able to get good speed on the desktop.

Will getting a WiFi7 network adapter for the desktop help to improve the speed?

Or are mesh routers like Asus BT10 my only other option to improve the speed?

Why don't you connect using LAN for meshing between the routers?
Since the AX-5400 is already running LAN to your son's desktop. Then monitor from there if it improves.

It's too far and messy for me to run a LAN connection between the 2 routers... Otherwise I'll just connect via LAN directly to the main router.

For a lot of folks with Mesh , just curious, have you tried using a powerline solution to solve your problem?

It's alot slower, due to electrical noise and distance. Not all homes is suitable, especially if you live in Maisonette or multi stories home. I have personally tested and played around with Powerline many years ago when it entered the market.

Thanx! I just got mine. Gonna try it out and see. Hopefully it works .
