I hope all my Mate 9, MediaPad M5 Pro 10.8, MediaPad M5 8.4, and Mate 20 Pro will be updated soon

However, I think I will lose all my Google Apps. I suppose I can still easily access them via a normal browser, just like the way I'm accessing them on my laptops.

They didn’t even get many things right before the ban, EMUI wise, under the android base. Now they have to start from ground zero, i feel it is abit too much to ask in too little time. I am aware they have been preparing for years with an alternate system and they are only saying it to quell market fears because these plan Bs haven’t been adequately stress tested in real world usage.

Android and iOS have had so many years to build upon and improve, because of their wide user base, bugs and security threats are faster to identify and rectified. I doubt Huawei’s new OS will be quite as polished and without rapid largescale adoption, it will go the way of the windows phone.

I like what they are doing hardware wise and improvements to Camera, batteries etc and overall pricing policy serve to keep other competitors in check and improve as a collective whole, which is good for consumers

I guess eventually HarmonyOS will try to lock the end-user in to get them to buy services and items within the eco-system. Apple and Google are good examples. Huawei is a profit-making entity and not a charity after all.

The key advantage Huawei now has to draw in consumers for its HarmonyOS is its good track record of making excellent gadgets and equipment. However, other brands such as Xiaomi are also catching up and surpassing it in some aspects.

I'm quite happy that even my old P20pro that I still using can upgrade to Harmony OS, really need to give a thumbs up for Huawei & their backend software development teams for the hardwork.

Honestly, I don't use much Google's apps, I have HW M6 tablet that is totally without GMS. If I really want to use Google apps, just use the browser or create a shortcut or use access via my P20pro, after so many months I did not "die" like other people said that cannot live without Google, I still live very Normal like a human.

From what I have read that Android apps can still run on Harmony OS, saw a YouTuber from Europe still have tried it & he said no problem.

New P50 series is a disappointment.

Ignoring the fact that it's gonna be a brand new OS, the hardware itself is at least technologically backwards by at least 2 years or more.

So far no problem with the apps & all working fine even I side-loaded apk file.

I assuming your MediaPad M6 is China set right? As til now global set still no news on HarmonyOS.
