Siambu aside. Compare land and condo price and build house cost, Thailand still best bang for the buck. Buy condo should be safe for foreigner, can use own name. Now thailand like gona relax some rules for owning landed but minimum around 10-15million baht on the high side.

You need be careful. Some of the outer lying provinces like Surin are very prone to flooding. My friend's house kena flooded along with his car. Heng his car is those outback Jeeps which can tahan water.

Yes that’s why ppl here so into just eating out and why something as pedestrian as eating is such a big deal here. Nothing to do island. Eating out is a thing people do cuz it’s so hot and unbearable to be outdoors in the day unlike in AMDK countries.

Many 20s and 30s professionals, especially those single before the China virus, seemed to work and work like mad and lived waiting to travel out of SG to mentally cope. It’s such a sad way to live.

Then when kena hole up in SG can’t travel due to China virus then they now understand the disadvantage of being a citizen of a microstate!!! Even domestic travel does not exist.

For those who wanna retire in japan, better think twice. It's not easy to retire there as foreigner, unless of course you already married to a japanese. Buying house not easy, applying for bank account also not easy etc

You must compare base on land size too. SG not considered a country IMO. If I compare SG area to other country’s area, crime rate will be about same
SG = Iskandar area in JB
SG = portion of BK
SG = portion of Tokyo in Japan
SG = portion of Batam in indo
