Update. Mediatek Dimensity 9000 seems a very potential chip! It performs better than snapdragon 888 and consumes a lot less power than snapdragon 8 Gen 1! The down sides are slightly weaker graphic and no mm wave (only USA uses them) Its manufactured by TSMC. No wonder so powerful!

It seems as if the latest snapdragon has dropped the ball on their performance. Or maybe D9000 has upped the game and provide better solutions.

Sam is getting complacent as usual, like the fruit company with tons of fans. They will get their good sales no matter what hardware they put in their products, paid ads and fans to do all marketing.

It is not exactly a scam, there is a common misconception by the larger crowd. It just does not decide the overall performance of the camera by having higher MP count.

48mp sensors. Likely xperia pro I II. but I think processor will still be snapdragon 8 Gen 1 because we don't see Sony using pro version of the processors all these years.

this IV kinda ticked most of my boxes except:
- a smaller sensor for the telephoto lens which means lesser quality (which I think is to compensate the increase in zoom)
- still 12MP (as compared to 'standard' 48MP with quad binding) perhaps to reduce the processing time for frame-intensive imagery
- heat issues with the gen 1 chips (sounds serious enough)

really like the form factor (weight, size) and the pureness of the camera functions (shoot like a camera and not just relying on AI).

not sure whether to jump in or wait for pro 1ii..
