They broke the law and took a video of themselves doing it.

Two teen boys smoking and vaping in a Sentosa cable car have been reported to the police, said the Mount Faber Leisure Group (MFLG), which operates the Singapore Cable Car.

Stomper Jenny said she saw the video of the incident on one of the teens' TikTok page.

"In the video, it can be seen that his friend was vaping while he lit up a cigarette in the cable car," said the Stomper.

The 10-minute video uploaded by TikToker shu2899 on Jan 28 has since garnered over 24,000 views.

It shows three male teens riding a cable car on the Sentosa line to the Imbiah Lookout station and then to the Merlion staion.

About a minute into the video, one of the them took out an e-vaporiser from his cross-body bag and started vaping.

The TikToker then takes out a pack of cigerettes and started smoking. The third teen cannot be seen in the video for most of the ride.

As they approached Imbiah Lookout station, the TikToker can be heard telling the vaping teen, "Keep, keep, keep!" as the latter blew one last puff of smoke out the window before placing his e-vaporiser back inside his bag.

The cable car came to stop at Imbiah Lookout station, but the trio remained in the cable car. When it continued on to the next station, the teens did not smoke or vape again.

In response to a Stomp query, an MFLG spokesman said the company was alerted to a video on social media showing the incident.

"All smoking is strictly prohibited in cable car cabins and no smoking signages are displayed at all cable car stations and cabins. Any offenders will be held accountable to the authorities. MFLG takes a serious view of such behaviour," said the spokesman.

"This incident has been reported to the police authorities."

The minimum age for smoking in Singapore is 21 years old. While smoking is allowed if restricted, vaping is banned here.

Last month, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) fined a man for vaping on the MRT after the authority was alerted to a Stomp article.

HSA said: "The purchase, possession and use of e-vaporisers are prohibited in Singapore under the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act. This includes purchases made through the Internet and from overseas. Offenders can be fined up to $2,000."

Because of people like these very soon all the Polcam will be upgraded with AI software to detect smoking in prohibited areas. Offenders will be identified through facial recognition software and summons will be issued through Singpass app.

There you go , our future generation. Putting videos of themselves breaking the law for pride. Jia lat. I really wonder if most of them are stupid. They don't seem to realise vaping and owning one is illegal. All put on IG story and TikTok like normal activity.

Should broadcast this during school reopening in sch assembly and also let them write a 2000 word reflection essay on this video.. then after that SPF can take them in, and refer them to boy's home.
