Stocktake in the midst of COVID:

My spread of my coffin-money investment as of Jul 20.Am retired and living on passive income:

Cash holding 3.5% average return negligible
Equities (Sg) 33% average return 3% pa
Liquid CPF OA/SA (not including FRS and Medisave amount) 40% average return 2.5% pa
HDB (rented out) 23% average return 5% pa

Key objective is to maintain my coffin money intact and draw returns for expenses. One setback is inflation though, but I suppose I can live with that. My children will get less inheritance due to inflation.

You refunded back all your CPF OA?

Indian rupees have drop by 8% over past 1 year. What kind of yield are you getting to compensate for this currency risk?

The yield has been around 7%. Last 1yr has been bad, but if you look at the 10 year chart of SGDINR, since 2012, it has been in the 45 to 55 range. Right now it is at 54. So about 20% range since last 7 years. I follow Indian macros. The central bank has accumulated lots of reserves and although India runs a current account deficit, it is mainly due to oil imports. Now oil prices have fallen so much, so imports are going to be low for sometime.

Yes. have been thinking of divesting some 20% to MSCI index.

Since you already got a lot in your CPF which is probably more than enough, I think you should put the equities portion into something like IWDA.

Since Gitaro is already retired, a distributing ETF (VWRD) rather than accumulating ETF (IWDA) will be a better fit in my view as he doesn't need to reinvest the dividend if he doesn't want to.
Not MSCI index but equivalent FTSE index but it still track most of the world's investable equities.

For portfolio allocation I'm currently at about 44% foreign, 56% Singapore.. partly because Singapore stocks underperformed. :s13:

My medium term target is 60% foreign, 40% Singapore. However, I do find Singapore valuations quite attractive, so there is a temptation to continue buying SG stocks...

My equities portion is 100% foreign, only cash and fixed income is local. I can't find any attractive local stock to buy, I can't see any strong growth in most companies.

Trying to find a balance of local (SG) vs foreign (international / US / Asia) asset allocation, including bonds and equities. What are your thoughts.

Currently 70:30 SG vs International equities. Aiming for 50:50 eventually.

100% SG bonds
