Never. From my understanding needs to change ferry 3 times and will take a whole day. Pretty remote and ulu there, unless you love nature and for the sake of 'achievement unlocked', very little reason to go there. You want to go there for?

Thanks bro, I think I saw the blogs, but it's for cycling. On second look, Lingga looks very far. The domestic Indonesian ferry might be too intimidating for my other half.

I think I've to settle for Galang for now.

By the way, have you been to Balai? How is it? I had the impression it is some red light place.

Went to Bintan Cabana Beach Resort before. Relatively small but private beach. Nothing much to do, more of enjoying the sand, sea and water. Did travel out via the resort shuttle bus to eat at a restaurant.

What's the difference between sea and water? Anyway you should have gone to Pasir Ris. Also got sun moon seawater.

The driver probably brought you nearby to eat which is also at chop carrot price. From cabana it is about 30km to the nearest town which called Kijang where there are some street food too. Doubt you went that far. Anyway the best place to eat seafood kelong style is in this place at the south of the island called Batu Licin. It's where the locals go for their seafood. It's all live seafood so you point in the tank and they'll catch it. Squid, prawns fish crabs, all are live. Had a meal there brought by my bintan friend. Ordered more than 10 items ..all kinds of shellfish like scallop oyster lala gong ong with all steamed items like prawns squid fish + 2 plates of 2 crabs each(salted egg yolk and chilli) and 2 vegetables. For 6 pax, price is about SGD70.

Sometimes you cannot blame the drivers for bringing you to those chop carrot places. My mom can speak indo, so the driver was saying that Sinkie quite atas one, bring them go cheap places they may want to even eat or walk into the shop there. Then the more presentable place is of course for tourist, their locals where can afford. Some sinkies are quite spoilt, cannot take the "local route" then hiam this hiam that.
