3 years ago, SQ did not compensate me for wheel damage ... the Baggage Office in SG showed me a sign that said damage to handles, wheels, scratches etc are wear & tear & they r not responsible

I should have claimed in HK instead ...

Nowadays more airlines ask you to claim from travel insurance, they just provide supporting report. Was the case when i took qatar last year.

agree ... if flying KUL, silkair and SQ same prices.
would usually opt for SQ

silkair operating style differs from SQ
even for luggage damage polices, silkair tend not to compensate you ...
they regulations is stricter ...
wheels cracked, or missing, handle come out, all cannot claim ...
but sq they would give u another luggage for free ...
Silkair really sucks to the bottom now. From ground to air..... nothing works well there.

Guys please stick to the topic and don't divert. Thanks.

As of now, even the US is going to ground their 737 Max 8 fleet.
So it's global now.
