First timer to Cambodia

I'm intending to visit Siem Reap, Cambodia some time next year. Date is unknown for now as I'm still researching when Cambodia has good weather (meaning, no rain, cloudy is best ). If anyone knows of a good month to go, let me know, I can save some research efforts, haha.

Reason being, I saw this cycling tour group - http://www.spiceroads.com/tours/angkor_explorer

Detailed itinerary:

From the description, the tour looks good to me. Does anyone have experience with this tour group? Or can advise if the itinerary is OK for a first timer?

Other questions:
  1. What currency to bring there? I read in some threads say bring USD?
  2. How much money to bring there based on the above itinerary? By the way, the following are included into the tour costs:
    • Bike rental
    • Entrance fees to the temples
    • Lunch, water and snacks
  3. Hotel recommendations? Got free wifi and breakfast is best.
  4. What are the ways to get to the hotel? Can the drivers there be trusted? Asking because I will be going there solo before joining the group, so don't want to tio chop or have whatever happens me...
  5. Where to get a local data micro SIM card?
  6. Other things to take note of?

Thanks very much for the help!

It appears that you require a 3-day pass to the the park:

You can try to book a hotel that comes with airport transfer.

Thank you! Let me confirm with the tour if their entrance fees to the temples = the pass.

I want to confirm something - can take photos and/or video for personal keepsake? The website only say if for commercial purpose then need apply for a pass.

USD is most convenient since prices are quoted outright in that currency. SGD can be exchanged there for riels or USD. Photos are fine.
