I bought 1 to try. No luck for me.

Here and there you do get Malaysia signal. Not sure if it's problem with card activation or what but I didn't manage.
Same person here.. reception from Malaysia here and there is enough for me but.. how much of the time is it usable?

I did not manage at all, unsure if it's card activation problems. I am however sure that there was reception occasionally. On hindsight, I would have rather paid for the wifi on board even though it was expensive.

Best if you can disconnect completely. If you really cannot live without it, I believe you would pay whatever price to remain connected, and that is the expensive wifi on board.

yes, food still be catered when the ship is docked...so dont worry u can always go roam around and then back for the dinner

as for the GALA dinner, do you mean like formal night or something? one of the night will be the captain's night hence have to dress formally but i saw some reviews that even jeans and polo are allowed
I see.

Yes, that's what i was refering to.
For that dinner, are there special reservations required or additional cost?

when u booked for the cruise, the sales person will ask for your preferred timing for dinner at the main dining room. the captain's night will be just be one of the day's dinner lor same timing

i think there's 2 slot...5.45pm or 745pm...everyday u will have ur dining on the same table and same staffs will be serving you throughout all dinners

Has anyone tried the Dreamworks Character breakfast? Is it purely a kids' thing or will adults enjoy it too?

Aircon temp, don't rmb it being too bad.

Don't have to worry about attire, most are in shorts/berms + slippers. Usually just wear slightly better (jeans, shoes) for dinner.
thanks so i guess people dont really dress formal for formal night?

Yup, it's SGD$12.50/adult. Was thinking of going for it just to take photos and have fun. I don't have kids btw.

Will the characters perform? Not sure if it's worth the $12.50.

It really depends. Some really take the chance to dress up and take nice photos. Some are casual as ever, it's really up to the individual as long as you don't feel out of place.

save $ roam urself

jus do some research on the 3 areas and below are what i know so far;

penang - ferry terminal is near quite of few places of interests (museum and historical places) within walking distance

langkawi - near nowhere but a lot of cabby will be available outside the terminal. the the terminal seems to be quite from that Eagle statue landmark

Phuket - one bro here mentioned that you can just hop around the island with the free shuttle provided (not by Royal Caribbean)
