some earlier posts mentioned it's not expensive per pax if you are doing in a group with other people. can't recall how much it is as i did private day tour for halong bay (private car transfer and private junk).

anyway, you can get an idea of the prices from classy travel's website, another tour operator if you don't want to go around enquiring first. i used them for halong bay, prices as listed on the website. for overnight tour, different boat, different price.

i used madame linh for day tour to another place.

There are so many boats/cruises to Halong. How did you decide? Price & writeup?
Also recommend a centralise place to stay.

Mine was day trip so don't have choices.

Just shortlist by your comfortable budget, although i know what you mean, between different boats, some almost same price. Maybe choose based on photos of the room.

I stayed in an old quarter boutique hotel called noble swan spa & boutique, under s$75 per night.

Difference wont be big, unless u changing few thousands ...
normally rates at arcade is quite high generally ...
however, if u are not near arcade, can change at your nearby ...
if u wanna change more in vnd, do rmb to change some in Singapore , just in case u need them ...

2000 sgd is roughly 34million dong.

Can live like Kings and Queens there liao haha

For SIM card... If you want max coverage, it will be Viettel

If you just want data then go fo vinaphone

Vinaphone tourist sim is around 300k vnd comes with 8 GB data (in up to 4G/LTE), 80 local minutes, 80 SMS and 50 overseas minutes

Viettel you can get a basic sim for 50K vnd and then activate the add-ons according to your liking
At airports they also sell bundle for 100k to 200k vnd which comes with data, local mins, sms and overseas mins

Thanks bro
Recently used Changi Recommends Viettel in HCM. Save the time and trouble by inserting the SIM card in Singapore before leaving. Works like a charm on arrival. You may want to consider this option too.. Check it out at :

Enjoy
