My advice is still not to use your phone RIGHT next to a road. The only buffer between and the road is Air.

If you need to use your phone while you are walking along the kerb of a road...

Keep a safe distance from the road, like 1-2 foot into the pavement. Or... Simply walk into a Circle K or FamilyMart or food stall or cafe and use your phone inside

yup you are correct ... If going with friends, would usually tell them to put their handbags infront ... unless inside the mall ... much safer ...

have seen elderly crossing the road, and then hit by the motorbike ...
must open eyes big big when crossing the road ...

Crossing the road still fine.
But I hate motorists coming from behind the pavement
So if possible. Always turn back if u wanna switch lane or cross
Almost kanna. .
All these that you mentioned, i did.. and still doing.. ha ha..
When there, live like them..

Early morning went to Mekong Delta river
Booked with Klook. Bus is full.
2 hrs bus ride from HCM.
Thought is useful to share for those going HCM first time and with Klook

Cross the Mekong bridge. see a lot of kelong.
According to the local guide.
It takes USD$40 -60k to built one.
And every month need USD$500 to feed the fish.
Took 10 months to grow the catfish and export out
Once they export out. They can earn USD$80k.

Provided no serious stormy weather , or fish illness.

Once reach the destination. We go and have a short break at this village hut

The locals grow their own honey and sell the drink
Some make it cosmetic products.

While we having honey tea. They entertained us with music.
Dunno what they sing. Just clap hands when they r done. \o/ \o/

Lim ba ba, can walk walk abit to the river.
Gonna row row the boat.

A lot of nationalities in my grp. Mostly Asian
No Ang moh.

My handsum local guide asking the boats to come over.
One boat can only sit 4 ppl
Very slow if u have big group.

The small river leading to Mekong River is quite a distance
Used to have crocodiles here.

Local guide say the depth is about 2m. Still quite deep
Night time come here confirm scare. :[

Looks like some kind of ritual. See the water.
Gonna flood in the house if high tide.

Ah ma so old still rowing. Still strong
Sinkies go down hdb buy food also find it Jin lazy. Jin tiring
Jitao grab food. :[

We reached our 2nd destination. Local sell all kinds of things

Next. Yandao guide demonstrate how to make coconut sweets
This is labour work. Gonna remove the hard shell
Takes about 3-5mins to remove one. Sibei siong

Next. They will grind and boil the coconut.
And once is soften. They will put into the mould.

Once is harden. Local will cut into smaller pieces and wrap with rice paper. Why rice paper? Bcoz it will not stick to the main wrapper
No markings. She cut it to the same size based on her true feelings.
By feel :-0

Next. Yandao guide took out one big python.
Woah piang. Become local guide not simple job.
Must tear coconut husk. Take honey hive & now handle snake.
Tough job. :[

According to yandao guide. Most houses kept a python
Why? Coz rats smell the python will not come into the house :-o

Every 2 weeks. They feed the python a chicken.

Vietnam was under China for a thousand years.
Hence they shared the same heritage.
See the boat eyes

Boat captain only have job during good weather.
Stormy weather. He can stay at home koonz.
His annual incum depends on the weather.

The Mekong delta river is super long.
Take a few days and u can reach cambodia

Mekong delta is a historic place.
This is where anericunt GIs launched their assault.
Spreading Agent Orange to this river.
Which resulted deformed Vietnamese generations after generations.
Best donít eat fish in this river. :-0

Locals setting up net to catch fish.

Our set lunch. Pork chop rice.
Just read the news. Vietnam got pigs swine virus.
This time siao Liao.

Orange drink is Pomelo juice.

Ownself grow. Ownself squeeze juice.

After lunch. We went for our last destination.
The French influence design Buddhist pagoda

France ruled Vietnam for a hundred years.
During this time. A lot of buildings r influenced by French
This pagoda is built in 1907. By a Vietnamese architect
He went to France and studied and when he returned
He injected some French elements into the pagoda
This is the only Buddhist pagoda with Ang moh Design

Look at the columns. Like Roman columns.
U will find a lot of French column designs in schools or gahmen buildings

The intricate designs

Large Buddha around the pagoda.

After this. Back to hotel.
Overall trip quite interesting.
So far joined Klook tours for 2 times.
Quite good experience

The English guide is good. \o/ \o/

try not to take pictures when u near the road pavements or bag in one arm.
According to my english guide, alot of snatch thieves will snatch the phone when u taking photos
and ride away. same as bag.

Just be aware of your surroundings.

Food inside Ben Thanh market is actually not bad.

It's very competitive inside, so just expect 2 to 3 different stalls pulling you to eat haha

Luckily "African swine fever virus is a contagious viral disease impacting only pigs, not people, so it is not a public health threat or food safety concern."

The main roads are ok haha
The vehicle and motorbikes will stop at the traffic lights

It's the small roads
And especially motorbikes which wanna make the immediate right turn
Those are the ones you need to be wary
