Unlikely.

IMO, to qualify as a medical-grade watch the followings have to be met

1) Must be approved by the local health authority unless she simply approved the watch based on FDA and European certifications.

2) A license needs to be issued based on the model of the watch applied for as a medical-grade device.

3) The watch needs to be calibrated every year for its accuracy as it can provide false health info and endangering the life of the user if it's out of calibration. This is especially true of electronic devices which can suffer from electronic drift as time go by.

Based on the above ASUS & SAMSUNG might not want this feature to be made available to the users considering the small market here and the license won't be cheap too.

Secondly, the user is unlikely to foot that yearly watch calibration cost because smartwatches are just cheap items and new models with new/improved features are released every year or so.

Got GW3 when it first came out. Changed the region from Korea to Singapore for Samsung Pay and lose the Oxygen monitoring app. Version now is R850XXU1ATF3/R850OXA1ATF3/. Just wondering if this is the latest one? Is this what you have?

Even if you can get the ECG patch your watch is also not certified as a medical-grade device here. That means accuracy is not there.

If that's the case might as well get those cheap chinese smart bands and smartwatches which come with ECG feature. Plenty of them on the net

Like I mentioned even if you change to Galaxy Watch 4 you'll still unlikely to get the ECG/BP/Glucose Monitoring features as explained in my earlier post.

Samsung gave a lot of promises on its ECG/BP features since its Watch 2 but nothing being realized. You don't realize also?

You can download tracks to your watch. So no need for phone. But it was quite buggy for me. Works well the first time, after I added new tracks, it doesn't seem to work any more.

Somebody shared a patch up thread. So I now have ecg and blood pressure features in my watch for quite a while. But then, I never measure them that regularly anyway. I think a more basic smart watch for exercising is enough for my usage.
