Lumia 830

Readying this thread for the end of this week. Surely, Microsoft will release this phone due to all the leaks.

What we "know" so far:

- 4.5 to 4.7-inch 720P display
- 20.1 MP PureView camera (or 10MP since there will be variations of this line)
- removal back cover, replaceable battery
- dedicated camera button
- Micro SD
- thinnest Lumia

Since Microsoft canceled Tesla, I am thinking of getting this one if it proves to be a really affordable "high-end" phone. Then maybe, give this to my mother IF a real high end WP gets released this year.

The 830 is better coz it has removable back case (and built in flip cover!), removable battery, microsd card, thinner and lighter. Only letdown is the processor. Hopefully they can bring down the price to 500sgd.

10mp... No oversampling. MS calling this a flagship? lol... MS seems to be exiting the high end market to focus on mid and low end market...

my biggest qualm is actually why does the 730 and 830 got a microSD slot, but 930 doesn't have it... what were they thinking?
930 could have been a no brainer with expandable memory.

hopefully 1030 will have microsd (if there will be a 1030).

Otherwise, 1520 is still King! although i do like 930 size much much better.

I believe what they meant was flagship features on a more affordable price.

Realistically, what is your budget ... & whether camera performance is important to you ....

cos 930 is still the OFFICIAL CURRENT FLAGSHIP of MSFT Nokia (till L1020 replacement)

while 830 is the "Affordable Flagship" - aka MID_Range phone

still cant wait to try L830 (hope can try it later this month / or later into oct) - watch this post ... :D:D:D:D

MSFT needs mid-low range phones to gain market share & bottom line profits while True FLAGSHIP HALO phones for Marketing & Promotion purposes.

I still firmly believe MSFT will cum out with a TRUE Photography Phone before end of this year ...

thanks for replies! read some comparison articles as well, yupp 930 is still better. the only thing attractive of 830 to me is the removable battery :o

Let see. Quite disappointed with MS already. L930 is not a new model too. It just a Lumia Icon for the rest of the world...

stillgottheblues 06-09-2014 07:27 AM

These are clearly mid range models, looking at the design and shape of the phone.
