Actually the Mi Note 3 is also a good choice too, if you don't mind the 5.5" 16:9 display.

Mi Note 3 has the NFC and IR blaster combo, which such combo is missing in this year's Xiaomi phone lineup already.

The camera is also above average too, and the design is also very Xiaomi-esque(original design from Xiaomi) unlike this year's lineup all have some design cues from Apple. :s13:

IR blaster is still available in Mi 8 SE.

NFC is still available for Mi 8/EE.

Just that both combined is non-existent. Haish.

But then again, Mi Note 3 for Google Pay is questionable since it's on China ROM. Global ROM flashing need unlock bootloader so it's unlikely it's supported.

if its a china only phone, the chance of it getting a global rom is slim especially if the global variant is on the android one program.

The a1 and mi 5x had different codenames so the roms were not interchangeable. your only chance is to go for eu rom.

What price after the discount?

Update: $486 after discount. May as well get the USB-C OTG and save that $121 with 6/64 by JTBC LOL.

I'm skeptical with JTBC. Usually they don't have ready stock.

Dun what kind of features u are looking for. All of thm have their adv and disadv as well.

I'm currently using Redmi Note 4. Thinking of changing so no specific features I'm looking for.

Maybe NFC(do they even work in Singapore/Google pay?) and front finger sensor(back sensor very lehchey need to bring up phone everytime) since these 2 are lacking in RMN4. But not a must as i can live without these if other factors are better than these 2.

I'm also considering Redmi Note 5 pro because it is very affordable, but don't mind paying more for higher spec models but is it worth it / value for money?

Why i consider these:
RMN5P: good price with acceptable specs and good battery life
XMN3: NFC(can work in sgp?) and front finger sensor
XMM6x: better specs than XMN3 but battery life lose
XMM8: its the latest phone! :s13:

So now I still don't know which model should i get. :s34:

Read that A2 might launch around August. Something else to consider if u in a hurry

I'm not in a rush but waiting for launch is never ending because by then there will be other models enticing me to wait again :s13:
