This is slight off topic but today QOO10 has Korea S7 refurbish SGrade (whatever that means) also 600, which one i should grab as I gotten the 100 voucher too but I alas bought my redmi note 4 (4/64) already from Lazada

S7 is surely better than Mi Max 2 amid the small 5" screen! S7 has awesome camera too!

So, it depends on what is your priority!

Solid camera with a small 5" screen or not-solid camera with a huge 6.4" screen.

YOu have got to make a decision on your own!

I checked online and the difference is like 1mm or less...

Mi Max
Dimensions: 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5 mm

Mi Max 2
Dimensions 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm

So there is a chance that those silicone type casings might fit.. but perhaps not the rigid types.

You also have to note that the fingerprint sensor and camera cutout might be different too, and the IR sensor is also located on the center of the top for the Mi Max 2.

Pics of different silicone covers with enhanced corner protection, the last one is less bulky

Silicone is important to absorb and transfer impact away from phone body & display.

Which one seems to be the thickest at the corners? Hard to evaluate from pics alone.
