The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 features a dual 12MP rear camera, and also a high-res 16MP front camera for clearer selfies!

Even though the Mi Note 3 uses the same dual 12MP rear camera setup as the Mi 6, the algorithm is now further improved with greater accuracy in the bokeh of Portrait shots and being more natural in the processing of the photo shots.

You can now also unlock the Mi Note 3 with your face, with the new facial recognition unlock feature! Thanks to the AI facial recognition algorithm, it offers the user a fast and efficient way of unlocking the phone.

Xiaomi now equipped the Mi Note 3 with a high-res 16MP front selfie camera, but that's not all. Xiaomi adds on an Adaptable AI Beautification tool that identifies your face profile, and will do necessary facial adjustments such as enhancing skin tone, lightening of freckles and natural 3D face slimmer. It's like having a personal makeup artist!

Xiaomi knows the fact that guys now puts more attention to how they look, thus the Adaptable AI Beautification tool will also help to enhance the face structure and facial features of guys too!

Very odd decision to use Snapdragon 660 here (if it turns out to be true). Thought Mi Note is always positioned above the smaller Mi line of phones? Was expecting Snapdragon 835 at the very least.

Mi Note 3 packaging leaked..

General specs:
- Snapdragon 660
- 5.5" Full HD display
- Picture Perfect Dual Camera
- 16MP high-res front camera
- Four sided-curved glass design (same as Mi 6)

Pricing:
6GB RAM+64GB at RMB 1999
6GB RAM+128GB at RMB 2399

Xiaomi seems to have replace their premium flagship series with the Mi MIX series, instead of the Mi Note series.
This may be due to the poor results that Xiaomi has received with the Mi Note series for the past two years, which many people deemed the Mi Note series as a failure. With the popularity of the Mi MIX series(in China itself and worldwide), Xiaomi can take advantage of it and position the MIX as their premium flagship.

This Mi Note 3 will now be targeted at the offline market, to fight with the offline market competition such as OPPO R11, vivo X9s and Huawei nova 2.

As to why Xiaomi is using the Snapdragon 660 on the Mi Note 3, many sources say that Xiaomi wants to ensure stocks be easily available for purchase(since it targets the offline retail market).
Another way to see is that the supplies of Snapdragon 835 isn't high and if Xiaomi were to equipped the Mi Note 3 with SD835, this will mean it will be fighting for SD835 supplies with Mi MIX 2 and Mi 6. Xiaomi wants to ensure ready stocks for Mi MIX 2 too so to also ensure ready stocks for Mi MIX 2 and Mi 6, the Mi Note 3 will have to take a step-back and use SD660. The Snapdragon 660 isn't a slouch too, with good results from the OPPO R11 and is comparable to Snapdragon 820.

Interesting strategy here but main issue was that Mi MIX never made it beyond China, hoping Mi MIX 2 to change this and hopefully seeing it officially launched here via Mi SG. Am waiting for a larger Mi 6 and thought Mi Note 3 will fit in nicely but seems like spec-wise it will be a downgrade. We shall see. Cheers.

Mi MIX 2 is spotted in IMDA Equipment Database, high chance it's coming to Singapore!

I enjoyed the R11's SD 660 chipset. Hope it will be the same good experience on Mi Note 3. Also hope the 16MP selfie cam will be a 2 ultrapixel one

Actually it makes sense to use SD660. If it uses SD835, it would have little difference to Mix 2 to be honest. But then again this Note 3 will be less differentiated against the Mi 5x.

Can't seem to find any model that possibly correspond to Mi Mix2. What model number is it?
