Can change the SIM card to nano SIM or cut it to nano SIM size with precision tooling.

Both SD450 and SD625 qualcomm chip has integrated 802.11ac.
don't know why not implemented in redmi 5 and 5plus.

Could be due to budget cost, thus they stripped off the feature.

The Honor 7X, cost similar to the Redmi 5 Plus, also doesn't support AC WiFi and worst still no 5G WiFi support..

the worst part is that the redmi note 3 does support ac wifi.. they downgraded cpu and wifi on the new device

But the qualcomm chipsets for redmi 5 (sd450) and redmi 5 plus (sd625) have 802.11ac support built-in leh.. so don't know what else is still needed to provide 802.11ac.

Eh, you can't really say the SD625 is a downgrade from SD650. The SD625 is built on a 14nm architecture, which brings about better efficiency and performance and it cost way more than the SD650 built on the older 28nm architecture.

The SD650 successor is the SD660, and the cost price of the SD660 is more expensive than the SD650 due to the 14nm built mainly.

The Mi A1, with the SD625, supports AC WiFi too.
This means that it's either Xiaomi stripped off AC WiFi on newer Redmi phones to differentiate from phones under Mi series, or due to budget constraints.
