i give up on my weak 2.4 Band issue only 30-40mbps even when i am near the router.

my old N56U, is able to hit at least 70mbps..

if anyone knows what is the problem or has the same issue as me, do drop me a PM.

ASUS@SG do Pm me if you could provide some assistance.

very very very disappointing, i always had good luck with ASUS routers

even my old N56 performs better over the ac88u, money wasted i guess

on iPhone6s or any device?

just browsing and got disconnected. tried to log in to my router and got this message a few moments ago:

Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh.
Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-AC88U.
To access the settings of RT-AC88U, reconnect to the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number.

everything back to normal now. what just happened :s11:

Hi users of AC88,

Am upgrading from the asus ac68 to ac88.

May I asked how do you guys transfer the settings from the 68 to 88? Or is this possible at all?

Is the configuration file saved from the 68 able to be loaded to the 88?

Or need to setup the 88 from scratch?

As have quite a number of Port forwarding and configuration.

TIA.

Cheers.

enable Telnet on router, and extract your portforward list using "nvram get vts_rulelist" command. change the local IP for your extracted portforward settings (it should change due to change of router), and reload into new router via telnet as well, using "nvram set vts_rulelist="xxx"", where xxx is whatever you have extracted and amended, followed by "nvram commit". since firmware updates are rather frequent, and is best done in conjunction with a hard reset, this is a method which you will want to keep handy.

Yes, I got this message too after I update to the latest firmware. Reset to default setting. And start to setup the router.

There's a new firmware out on the US and UK site. Note that the file is not a zip file and you will need 7zip to unzip it.

username and password default to standard config without notice - very insecure :s22:

fortunately i was online and went to check settings. had i been out i would not have noticed the disruption and message (the other family members might have just brushed it off).
