I see. Then what else can I do to verify? Or should I just go back and exchange/Refund?

By system you mean the computer right? As for hardware you are referring to?

The above results I just use the adapter provide together with the sd card and I just plug into my laptop and run the test. Before that I format it to fat32.

Anyway, am i suppose just to have ntfs and exfat ? Fat32 has to be format through 3rd party program issit?

Yes. The card reader chipset etc plays a big part, host controller etc.

Typically 64gb and up, we use exFAT. SanDisk, avoid FAT32 for sdXC!!

Well, since the card works without error on h2testw, it could be ur chipset limiting your performance :)

Oh I see. Thanks! Didn't know about this.

Hmmm if you don't mind, can enlighten me why is it so?

That's true, since there no error I guess it should be fine.

The controller in the card isnt well suited for it.

Review: Lexar Professional 1000x UHS-II microSD (64GB)

eonXB.jpg

Keeping in line with cutting edge, Lexar released their first UHS-II capable microSD card, that allows them to use an additional lane of connection pins to achieve faster speeds. This is one of the first few microSD’s sporting this additional set of pins, and whilst there are relatively little devices that are capable of using this just yet, Lexar also included a set of UHS-II capable microSD card reader that runs on USB 3.0. So just how much faster can this card go?
.
.
.
Conclusion:
All in all, running the card in a UHS-I mode did not give it much of an advantage or boost of which we were expecting. The speed is close to (is little faster) than that of the 633X card but not by a large margin. On UHS-II mode, however, we do see that the read speed is bumped up by a pretty good margin, though the write remains similar to that of UHS-I. Nonetheless, the speeds realistically has exceeded its own given ratings, which is pretty good. In short, the speeds are as follows:
UHS-I mode
READ – 88,590 KB/s
WRITE – 40,354 KB/s

UHS-II mode
READ – 144,843 KB/s
WRITE – 46,501 KB/s

As a relatively new standard, there is not much devices using it as opposed to UHS-I, especially mobile devices, there is not much of a use in terms of mobile phones right now, for me to recommend this card over that of the 633x for mobile phone purposes. However, if your looking for a sleek way to store sequential data or even use it in a camera, it could be a good investment as it will reduce time required to copy your data out by quite a big margin via the UHS-II adapter.

It is nice to see the new adoption of the UHS-II standard to bump up the card speeds and we do look forward to more UHS-II cards and the corresponding capable devices.

just wondering, did you try to "revive" those died cards? (can try low-level format if it still can be detected)

Tried. It is totally unrecognizable by system (windows 7 and 8.1).

Using *nix:
I tried to use dd (ddrescue), parted, and gpart to no avail either. Even when attempt to read controller of the card, it shows nothing.

I have also ran my office forensic tools on it - totally inaccessible.

is the memorette 128gb suitable for laptop? i read online that for laptop sequential is more important than 4kb randoms. which according to your review for memorette seems to fit the bill.

thanks

That's quite a tricky question:
- what are you planning to store
- many big files
- many small files

Sequential speeds corresponds more towards large files whereas random corresponds to many small files.

probably a mixture of both. considering that the laptop internal storage only has around 16gb? so will need to rely on the micro sd as main storage.

i on a tight budget. haha.

the reason why i ask about memorette and jaba is cause of their daily sale.

128gb at $38 incl shipping is a price that lexar cannot reach. haha thanks

Yes I know. Its price or performance - later the whole com sluggish till hang then you'll know whether if its worth your money

It is probably more worthwhile to pay a bit more for Samsung or Sandisk. Not worth the aggro if your card goes belly up and all your precious photos are gone.

Whilst I dont exactly agree with Samsung, their pricing may get aggressive sometimes :)
