Just bought a local set p9 from a guy, when power on during setup, screen showed "the device was reset, to continue sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device".

Any way to bypass? Thanks for the help.

What if someone steals my phone and tries to wipe it?

Put simply, Device Protection makes wiping your phone after it is stolen or otherwise taken out of your custody a bad idea for would-be thieves. A factory reset initiated from recovery on a device with Device Protection will successfully erase the device, but at that point something new happens: in order to boot the OS, Android will require you to connect to the internet and then enter the account password of the last Google account on the Android device. If you have multiple accounts on the device, it should default to the "primary" Google account on your device, which is typically the one you signed into first. Regardless of which it chooses, you should know the passwords to all your synced Google accounts if you want to use Device Protection.

Just wondering why Oppo and Xiaomi no such google lock. Already send for service center for unlock. They did ask for receipt. If anyone buy 2nd hand better request for receipt

Anyone playing vainglory with p9? Im currently using p9 but when i play vainglory. Batt drain too fast. Like 3 completed games batt can drain 30% already. If i plug in while playing, it wouldnt charge at all. But charging alone without touching the phone still quite fast. I played same game on iphone 6s+ battery drain not so bad.

Am i the only one?

looks like Huawei knows very well about certain P9 users unable to use the Wifi connection even though the Wifi signal is connected with the phone.

I also have the titanium grey p9. Lousy phone with crippled network support. I'm looking for another phone with more global network support so that I can bring it overseas.

they used a lousy chip for network. can't be solved by software update.
i think the p9 can only be used locally and maybe in malaysia and a few other nearby countries. useless phone. i'm not going to bring it to further countries.

Home is Starhub setup, fibre.

Office is Singtel setup, with Az Tech 1050 router. Phone & router able to pair up but unable to use.

I called Huawei service centre. They told me to call Az Tech to unblock office router wifi mac address.

Configured by singtel.

No error messages, just cannot use.



Anyway i have exchanged my P9 with Sony Xperia XZ yesterday, won't be using Huawei phone anymore.


This is the 1st time I encountered such problem from a smartphone.


I do not understand why Huawei does not want to use a Wifi chipset that is compatible with older routers.


I have also emailed to Richard Yu, saying their smartphone will not sell well in Singapore, with such problem

haiz, am not a huawei staff; if anything, am more of a xiaomi fan, but am brand agnostic except for being anti-apple

router issue not easy to solve

anyway, p9 no longer with you, so can't help to troubleshoot

xz is good phone also, but camera not as good as p9, in terms of features [e.g. light trails, fake bokeh, etc.] and performance [lowlight, noise levels, etc.]

the p9 is almost double the price of asus zenfone 3 and more than triple the price of redmi 3s. and yet the zenfone 3 has double the lte bands than p9. and p9 has same lte bands as redmi 3s.

surely for the price of the p9, one would have expected more lte bands than the lower end phones?

Should have gotten the zenfone 3 instead, and used the balance money to get a point-and-shoot camera which is much much better than p9 cam.

router issue not easy to solve

The wifi chip on the phone, can be used in universal type. which mean they can use one which support all Wifi.

This can be easily solved. However, Huawei choose to place the latest one in it.

Want to move ahead, must know how to do it.

Announce to the world, that to use the phone, router must be with latest technology, or old router with latest firmware that could support it
