Hi Singtel,
The LTE gear s3 once configured, users can make phone calls without the phone right? Means i can leave my phone at home and make / receive call even miles away from it?
Tq
Hi lotusnotes,

The Gear S3 frontier LTE comes with the eSIM card which has a number of its own when bought from Singtel.

When disconnected from the phone, the Gear S3 frontier LTE is capable of making and receiving calls with the eSIM number.

If you want to receive calls to your phone number on the Gear S3 frontier LTE, you need to enable the call divert function (known as remote connection) in Gear Manager app and on the watch itself.

Once it is enabled, calls can be received on your watch even if the incoming call is to the phone. However, do note that call divert (remote connection) will incur additional costs.

Hope this clarifies. :)

So does this mean if I make an outgoing call from the Gear S3, the recipient will see the number that is associated with the Gear S3?

Also I have an existing singtel line, do I need to subscribe to a new line for this watch?

Hi delrosa81,

If you make an outgoing call from the Gear S3 frontier LTE, the recipient will see the number of the eSIM number associated with the watch.

You can change your existing line to either MobileShare or SIM-Only plan to eSIM for use with the Gear S3 frontier LTE. Change of SIM card charges are applicable, and if you are using a Combo plan, downgrade fee applies too.

So does this mean if I make an outgoing call from the Gear S3, the recipient will see the number that is associated with the Gear S3?

Also I have an existing singtel line, do I need to subscribe to a new line for this watch?

Hi G4,

We no longer off multi-SIM service for customers.

eSIM cannot support multi-SIM.

Hi Singtel, may i ask, what you have mentioned is not Multi-SIM right? or Multi-SIM is not applicable to this Gear S3 Frontier LTE?

Few questions here would like to ask and share to everyone:

1. Can I buy S3 LTE version and go to Singtel to activate the line?
2. Let's say after activated 6 months with Singtel, can I just deactivate with Singtel (understood charges occurs) and go with Starhub or M1?

3. How to determine the amount of data that I have used up till date? Will there be a Singtel app in S3 to view it? (like My Singtel app)
4. If forgot to off data roaming while in overseas bo si jialat liao?

Hi howrx1,

(1) TBC.
(2) Yes, you can deactivate your Singtel line and go with other service providers. If the eSIM service has an existing contract, early termination charges apply.
(3) You can use My Singtel app to track the data usage on your eSIM number.
(4) If you didn't activate autoroam, the eSIM line will not be eligible for data roaming overseas. If you have, you have to manage the roaming settings on My Singtel App.

thanks Singtel!
- how's the charges like?
- is it based on per routed call or monthly charges?
- how come using mobile phone to divert voice call to another mobile is free but not eSIM?

The absence of multi-sim service and the limitations of the e sim tat needs a standalone new number is in my opinion not an attractive proposition.

Would wait and see how the e sim technology evolves in the near future. Until the day multi sim service becomes available for e sim where both my phone and e sim device can have the same number, I would not subscribe to such services.

Starhub indicated that you can subscribe to Multi-Sim for Gear S3 LTE.

Hi lotusnotes,

As eSIM is a MobileShare line, the outgoing minutes will be deducted from the mobile bundle of the main line. Therefore, you are charged on a monthly basis.

Just to clarify on the call diverting feature; when you do a voice call divert from one mobile line (A) to another mobile line (B), the divert is considered an outgoing call from Line A, and hence airtime will be deducted from your mobile plan bundle or call charges may apply. Line B is considered as receiving an incoming call, hence the call is free.

Likewise, if you activate Call Divert (Remote Connection) to your Gear S3 frontier LTE, calls made to your mobile phone will be redirected to your watch, where there will be charges to your mobile phone line, not your eSIM.

Hope that clarifies.

thanks Singtel!

Hi ablue15,

The Samsung Gear S3 frontier LTE works with our eSIM which is a MobileShare plan.

You can consider re-contracting your existing mobile line to get the Samsung Galaxy S7 4G+ or Galaxy S7 edge 4G+, and purchase the Gear S3 frontier LTE at a special price of S$548 with a two-year subscription to MobileShare.

Tried a few times to pay using Samsung Pay with SCB cc, I was unable to make payment and prompted an error. Initally I thought it was the problem of my gear s3, however when I tried with Citi card, it worked.

Anyone facing the same problem?

you might wanna check with SCB to see if your digital card has all authorisation unlocked?
