I beg to differ with Antara. I recently requested them to do general maintenance on my aircon. They just did some cleaning, which is fine. However, one of the unit is not warm after the servicing, so asked them down again to look at it. Just said it was insufficient gas and pumped some gas. That same night, the unit was warm again, so called them back. This time, they wanted to pump more gas but I insisted they troubleshoot further, and eventually isolated the fault to some valve. Already paid them for the troubleshooting over $100, and then they quoted $180 to fix the issue with the spare parts - claiming that they are just charging for the spare parts since they already got paid for the servicing. Called Daikin and the equal spare parts is $84, plus $80 for service cost, with one month warranty. So, kind of regretting it now... should have called Daikin straight off and have the problem fixed at $160+, instead of now spending over $300 over 3 trips for Antara. Not very honest in their dealings with me, imho.

When one of my 3 aircon units failed to response to the remote control, I off the switch at the ECB. After about 5 minutes I on the switch and the aircon works. But within half minutes, it shut down by itself. I repeated the process a few times and the problem remained.

In the end I went downstair where a shop was dealing in used aircon to get a quote. He guessed it's the pcb and it would cost a few hundred dollars and he can only attend to it the day after tomorrow. Somehow I trusted agent and called Mitsubishi. The next day the repair man from Mitsubishi came and determined the fault and change part of the pcb. Total cost $100 for fault finding and 150 for part. Before that I called MHI and they quoted $130 for fault finding excluding part.

AC: ME FJ series(5 ticks) system 2

Recently AC is not as cold as when 1st installed even if its set at the same temperature, called ME for service, they say everything is normal after checking but ask me to start my AC at 20°C when switch on & if still have problems, call them again.

This problem was noticed after ME services:

When I switch on my AC(set it at 20°C), 2 lights will be there. when it's cool enough. I will set it at a higher temp but as the temperature moves up, I notice there's only 1 light left. But when I lower down the temperature(21°C below), the lights came back on. Is it normal? Had my AC for a year now but actually nvr took notice of the lights b4. The lights nvr jump from 2 to 1 even after an hr after switching on AC(set at 20°C) like what the FAQ indicates.
Tested to switch on AC at 22°C, only 1 light is on but when move down to 21°C, 2 lights came on.
Can anyone advise on this problem?

Check the FAQ http://www.mitsubishielectric.com.sg/services-support/faqs
Why does the indoor unit indicator light changes from 2 to 1 light after a certain time?
This shows that the room temperature has reached or close to the desired temperature.

normal... 2 light mean the valve open to let the gas pass through ( cool the room ). 1 light will close the valve... :s22:

Highly recommended by me! They were able to source and repair my aircon for me all under 24hrs. Dani was very informative too!

Bro
Redcon air really good ar. I got 2 blowers blow hot air.. Such condition should ask for normal servicing(last time was last year July) or chemical wash (never chemical wash before)?

Air con is 4.5-5 years old..

Need serious help here.

On a side note, don't sign those air con packages. Knn wash 1 or 2 times very good service. Afterthat those technician like attitude and slipshod service. Find 1 good air con company really difficult.. Dulan..

I've used Maxicool before about 2-3 times. they are good and efficient and so far their pricing seems reasonable. only downside is that they are usually quite full and need to book them quite a few months in advanced.

recently I had an aircon leak problem in my master bedroom, tried to get Maxicool but they were already fully booked and can't help me this time round. I went with Aircon Arena based on good online feedback on FB but it was a nightmare working with them. they are more expensive than most companies that I've used and they were very rough with the aircon. they even crack my wall of the master bedroom where the leak is and didn't bother to patch it up. they only came back 2 days later to patch it because I complain and the aircon was also less cold than before the service. the technician who came to patch it did such a slipshod work that I will probably need to get it redone at some point and the aircon was not colder after the service. for both trips that they made for the servicing and the follow up, they change the appointment timings a few times during the day of the appointment and still end up coming late for both appointments. at the end of the day when I wanted to leave them a feedback on FB only to realized that they block me for leaving a feedback. I really wonder why...

anyways, for my next servicing which will be soon because this recent one with Aircon Arena is a total waste of money, i'll probably go back to Maxicool

my 2c worth...

So how did Aircon Arena get so many good reviews? Thats why sometimes i dunno whether to believe these reviews or not.

Perhaps thats why some ppl stick to more established names like Gain City or Courts even though more ex.

I'm a friend of Bballer and i know here, must GPGT! Helping to post cos Bballer is junior >30posts... And included some other knnb remarks my friend had to endure from them...

All the good reviews on Arena, all write same way. you see the pics for yourself!

And I saw with my own two eyes... it's even worse in person than the fotos!

Beware of AIRCON ARENA!

This is their idea of patching my wall...

They also did not vacuum the aircon (which is standard service right?????) that was left dirty and disgusting even though vacumming was included in their package. When I ask the technician why they didn't vacuum, he actually said "I no need to vacuum because I BLOW away." Professional, right?

Hey,

i'm so tired of dealing with poor air condition services so im trying to come up with a solution to the problems. I think we all feel the same pain and distrust towards these services.

I want to get a better understanding of what your experience has been dealing with these companies. I would be very grateful if you can take a few minutes to fill out a survey i have created. Its only 10 questions :)

If you are keen to help out more, you can put in your email address at the end of the survey so i can follow up with more questions. Feel free to share the link to anyone you know had similar issues.

Here is the survey:

Hi all, I'm currently using a Sharp aircon (10-12 years old model). The aircon only blows out air from the center and not at the sides which is strange. The air that comes out is also not v cold. Cleaned the filters but the problem remains. Anyone has an idea what may be happening to the unit ? The remaining 2 units at home do not have this problem, although the air that comes out is usually not as cold as expected...

Have not serviced the units for many years and will be thinking of doing so...

Hope someone can help!

Since you have not service the units for many years, just get it serviced.
OR better still, replace the whole aircon system since its already more than 10 years old.

Yes they are reliable and efficient. Good for schedule / regular maintenance but they mostly unable to support urgent troubleshooting with their full schedule.
