Hi guys,
If you guys have the loose joycon problem due to the chipping of the latch.
I have a solution that do not require a 3D printer.
Unfortunately, i only have the after repaired pic. (Shown below)
Top part, black plastic from Tamiya plastic scrap. Bottom part is the original gray latch.
Items needed,
The usual screwdrivers to dismantle the joycon.
small flat file. Super glue and Some scrap plastic from Gunpla/Tamiya models.
I had tried the following but failed -
1. Filling the chipped corner with Superglue
2. Using Expoy Putty
3. 3D Printed part (mirrored wrongly, thus unable to use
, Printed part looks bad anyways.)
Steps for my repair.
File the chipped corner so there is a bigger surface for the Super glue to bite and stick on the plastic (Cut a small piece will do).
Wait for Superglue to fully dry and add a bit glue more between the two parts. After drying, use a sharp penknife to trim off excess plastic and scrap off excess dried Superglue.
(try at your own risk, i do not know how long will it hold and i assume that if it does break again, it will break along joint, chipping off the black plastic.)
