The bad thing about UOB one is that the amount of getting cash rebate is fixed, i.e:

A. Spend at least $300 for 3 months - get $30 (around 3.33%)
B. Spend at least $800 for 3 months - get $80 (around 3.33%)

So what do you get if you spend $400? or $1500? same amount: $30 and $80 respectively.
Still we got to do our own Card spending transaction management ourselves :)

yap, thats why i will allocate those giro to cc payments to uobone to hit 300. and where other (variable)expenses i will charge to manplat. :)

One more thing to take note - if you hit $6000 total in three months, got to use other card again, I recommend Xtra Saver debit card - to get 2% rebate (but must put 20k in savings) or use DBS Altitude to get around 1.75%.

But I think it depends on what you want to accumulate - if rebate, the above works best. If miles, there are other cards, i.e. DBS Altitude, CitiPremierMiles

For Xtra Saver debit, i believe the required savings are 6k for 2% rebate, and 50k for 3% rebate. :)

Eh? If you aim for $300 in 1 particular month for Manhattan platinum,
i think you spend $8150. Then you stop until the next qualifying quarter.

Yes sir - get the xtra saver debit card - it gives you 2% if you have 6k average balance and 3% if you have 50k average balance. You can get up to $300 max for this card, including Nets payment cash rebate.
Now the trick is: This Debit cant be used for online payment, only for physical swipe. So you got to have another card to do the trick - I am using DBS Altitude for the moment.

So my spending strategy now: if got big bulk purchase: Manhattan 5%, else xTrasaver Debit 2% (havent got 50k in savings yet =:p), dbs altitude

Plan to get UOB One card - but still thinking, coz I have to re-consolidate all my bills payment again.

Hmm... I thought $6k is enough.. why we need $8150? It doesnt goes in tier rite?
As in first 500 you get only 1%, no? Can anybody who used this card before share their experience? Thanks! :)

No tier, if you spend $3001, you get $150 rebate. Soend $6000, $300 rebate. So don't spend more than $6000 on the manhanttan card in a quarter.

Ah, i guess i got it wrong. haha thanks man.
One question.

If i spend $1100 in month 1, another $1100 in month 2, another $1100 in month 3 (total $3300). Which % rebate would i get? 1% or 5% ?

Does TUITION FEES count as a retail purchase? Since education is considered a 'commodity' especially in private institutions =:p

The percentage of rebate you get is purely based on a single monthly statement. Maximum rebate in a Q is $300.
