I just got reply mail from AMD asking me to send in the CPU chip to
Moduslink
51 Ubi Avenue 3

I'm thinking of walk-in to drop in the part.
I'm thinking of putting the chip into the original ESD package in which it came in.
Then putting the package into an envelope.

Is this ok?

Thanks...I mailed off the chip in ESD case using Postpac bubbled wrap lined envelope. 80c and 80c stamp (normal).
Drop inside post box on Monday morning.....I get the chip replacement (brand new chip with heatsink !!) on Wed morning thru local courier.
Someone will call to confirm you are at home to receive the package.

You mean you did not need to send in the original heatsink for RMA?

http://support.amd.com/us/warranty/Pages/Processorinabox3YearLimited.aspx

Upon receipt of a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from a Customer Care Center Representative, you will be required to send in your processor. If requested by AMD, you will also be required to send in the heatsink/fan that was packaged with your processor. The packaging materials themselves will not be required to process your RMA.

Nope...there will be a series of emails from AMD Tech Support n Customer Service.
They mentioned there is NO NEED to ship in the heatsink (to lighten your postage fees).
They only want the CHIP.

Now I got 2 stock coolers....one old n one new.....but not using either.
Using CM Hyper 101.

I was hoping they commit a boo boo somewhere and send me a Phenom II chip instead of X3 440.....:D
