Distilled water just buy from super market. They are usually labelled as pure drinking water. An example would be Dasani.

I stay at Tiong Bahru and I can spare you some of my PTNuke. But I will only available from Friday night onwards as I am serving NS in a stay in unit.

Bump up for awareness. Updated list on first page to include r104_for.

Anyways, the Swiftech Apogee Drive II will be on sale in 2 weeks time.

MCP35x + Apogee HD base seems like a winner.

Also, Swiftech's new Lok-Seal fittings are on sale!

Hi all WC experts...
I am keen to indulge into WC too...
But no idea where to start....
Currently only on the AIO Corsair H80i....
Anyone can point me a direction, like reading up on the different parts and things to look into and the fitments, tubing sizes, the waterblocks and reservoirs and pumps and rad and fan and etc....

Purpose of WC would be to bring the CPU and GPU temps down so that can OC more....

Appreciate any advice.

Hmm.. For your FT02, a little hard to do custom tbh.
Anything bigger then a 360MM (180MMX2 or 120MMX3) at the bottom, you have to remove the hdd cage liao but imo, a 360MM rad + 120MM rad on top should be more then enough.
Pump get a Swiftech or Laing derivative (MCP655 is preferred if you have the space).
Waterblock wise depends on your taste but the most value for money block now is the XSPC raystorm.
Reservoir also depends if you want to put it at which location as well. There are tube res and bay res that fits in your 5.25 bay.
For the tubing, just don't get ones smaller then 3/8 (Inner diameter) and make sure your barbs fits the tubing size.

The Swiftech MCP35X is good too, compact and powerful.

As for reservoirs, a cylinder reservoir might be better as it's easier to bleed.

To save space, I would recommend the Swiftech Apogee Drive II, which uses a MCP35X pump. It's on the post I made above in 22-04-2012.

Nice thread. Got any resources to readup on water cooling setups? I wanna do one external solution linking my CPU/2xGPU setup... I have a Corsair 650D casing if that matters.

Or I suppose a H220 head would do as well if he is only cooling CPU + 1X GPU. Cheaper imo. Thinking of either the Drive II or the H220 now actually..

Serious lah. My PC now exhausting air into my room, and it's making it super warm. I intend to have an external solution with a radiator located outside of my PC and exhausting air the outside of my room.

Hmm...
My current H80i's fans are bothering me....
Maybe an external solution would be good...
Move the fan and rad elsewhere in order to have a quiet system?

I know lar. Problem is you will indeed need more then 1 pump to have enough flow to the rad..
Anyway, this is the only one with an external rad that I remember:
[Project Log] Fiery Black Ki7ight [Classified]
Pretty overkill thou. Imo, best if you can shift your system nearer the window or something. At least the tubing wouldn't be that long and you don't have to find a separate way to power the fans.

My main purpose is to channel most of the heat somewhere out of my room, I don't want the warm air to stay in my room.

If you can have a radiator outside your home, I would suggest you get a dual Laing D5 or a single Iwaki pump setup. Then for the tubing from your pc to the radiator I would suggest Tygon Neoprene tunings.

Another suggestion would be to build a radbox or get an external radiator unit like those offered by aquacomputer.

If you are interested, feel free to pm me. I would be glad to provide you with insights and advice.

Possible meh? Encourage ppl to void warranty? :s22:

Anyway... I always tot copper is a better conductor for heat... how come nickel is more expensive?

Well, aftermarket cooling is always about voiding warranty. You just have to be careful during the installation of waterblocks. GPU waterblocks these days are very easy to install. After all, in Intel warranty terms, warranty is actually not honored if you use a third party cooler.

Nickel is slightly less conductive in heat, but most nickel waterblocks you see out there are actually nickel plated copper blocks, so the effects is negligible. However, nickel plated blocks are good looking and are corrosion and oxidation resistant, hence their popularity.
