ok... i also tested ddns with the torrent webui (used to be working on MOL with dir-655).... here's the screenshots

also, i can't assign ip reservation on this router...
the error i got for the pc is "An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection : The name specified in the network control block (NCB) is in use on a remote adapter.
The NCB is the data."

Wat is wrong wif the dlink router? Have I gotten a lemon set?

ok managed to solve this... i assigned an ip which is out of the pool... isn't this strange?

Hi Winston7222,

Sorry for the super late reply.

Just got the version 046 on my D-Link router recently.

If i am not wrong, the Airport card on my Macbook White (09 version) is a broadcom one, BCM43224 chipset

B046 not very stable also... wireless getting cut off intermittently...

The router does not forward remote IP to virtual server

I get the virtual server up and works fine,. But one thing weird is, the virtual server reports all external visitors' IP as Router's LAN IP, which is 192.168.0.1 in my case. I am not sure whether starhub purposely disabled it or just a firmware bug?

dlink vs huawei

I got the 100 mbps line fom starhub about a week back and after changing the router twice, I am yet to be pleased. First of all according to the star hub technicians who come to your place to install ( and not the support staff at 1633), Dlink router does not work with mac os. I took me 10s of calls some of them not very pleasent to get this out of them They know very well that mac does not work well with Dlink but they wont tell you that while buying the connection or durng the first installation!!! So all of you beware.Finally yesterday they changed the router to Huawei. With the dlink router the connection on the mac keeps dropping every 5-10 secs. Have been using the huawei for about an hr now. So far no probs in connection dropping. However the speed test rveals much lower than expected performance. Over wifi if not very close to the router, the speed is an appalling 2-7 mbps for downloads. If close to the router its as high as 50 mbps. These guys are a long way away from expected service deliveries. So all of you who areplanning to change from the cable broadband to the much touted fibre option line. My suggestion will be to wait. The other problem is that the tech staff at starhub is not exactly qualified to handle questions on this. They dont have the experience yet. My experience with Dlink helpdesk btw was much worse. all they know is to change the channels and they will make you do this a 100 times

That's one of the factors which is pushing some of those more savvy consumers to non-mainstream RSPs like MyRepublic, SuperInternet and ViewQwest (in alphabetical order, does not represent any preference nor ranking). These RPSs offer plain no-frills data connection and allow consumers to use own router.

I did have a similar problem for my D-Link Router connection, via Macbook White. But the issue has been solved with B046 firmware version, and the connection is quite solid and stable. :)

Provided the end-users know how to setup their own routers, and configure VLANs if they need to do it. ;)
