Actually that page is quite outdated, there's been about 5-6 new peers added recently. I'll try to get it updated tomorrow.
Hmmm... Guess I have not checked for quite some time. Looking forward to more peerings, esp. great peerings that will significantly improve our connectivity within Asia (eg. China, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Malaysia).

Planning to sign up for Viewqwest at COMEX. Question for folks who are using the Zhone gateway as a router, can you let me know if the Router has feature of DMZ? I prefer to use it as a router as I found out that in "bridge"/modem mode I can only connect one device to it and I need to connect multiple routers.

I believe that I can turn off WiFi and DHCP Server on the Zhone, but am not sure about it's firewall settings.

VQ having a promotion at COMEX? Was informed by the customer service that there will not be any promotion there.. so i signed up. :s8:

Well I can say the new ones are within Asia, but not in the countries you listed :( Anyways I'll post them here for you:

We do not monitor torrenting. However if our upstream links get saturated and our users start complaining that everything is becoming slow we will track down the culprit (easily found if his bandwidth usage is constantly peaking over a long period of time) and give him a warning. If the warning is ignored we will either temporarily suspend or throttle his connection to non-service affecting levels so that other users are not affected. Currently we still have a large amount of unused bandwidth and are constantly upgrading it to meet new demand, so there should not be any issues to the overall network.
If you meant amount of downloads, you can download/torrent as much as you want...

hi anton, how much GB Daily bandwidth used. is consider alot in order for u guys to suspend or throttle?

There is no limit to the amount of daily bandwidth used as long as it is not abusive or affecting other users. We will let you know if that ever happens!

Normally after the block is approached with the free TP installation, there is a 2-3 week wait till you can sign up with a Provider. It's best you contact us after the TP is installed and we will monitor for you so that we can apply for the earliest activation date possible.

Great peerings. I love it... the non-mainstream RSPs should really peer up to give those mainstream a run.

Hmmm... Improve in peering for Indonesia makes great business sense as ID is an emerging market for hosting services. ;)

VQ's principle is not those marketing freebies gimmicks so you make the right decision to sign up instead of waiting for IT shows.

I finally switched to the Asus N56U router this afternoon and ALL of the above problems were instantly fixed. The Asus also appears to have a stronger wifi signal dispersion in comparison.

RT-N56U FTFW :D. On the same router on VQ and it's A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

Recommend firmware 1.0.1.8d dude, it flies.

Just to make sure, does the VPN work when connecting straight to port 2 of the Zhone? Then does it work from the switch at the first floor? Test by segments to see where the problem lies at. Maybe if you could email us a drawing of your setup would help a bit.

It definitely works from port 2. I'll believe it works from the first switch but I'll test it again this weekend and send a diagram over. The weird thing is if I take my laptop down and connect to the VPN, bring it upstairs into my room again the VPN will work upstairs for a while. But after a while, the VPN from upstairs will cease to work. So I guess some sort of conflict is happening within my switches.

Actually, my best bet is that if u encounter issue after the maintenance, just do a restart on the router(zhone) to see if it helps.

Why is VQ routing traffic to Starhub via Japan?
Code:
Tracing route to 203.116.80.199 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1 1 ms 1 ms 2 ms 202.83.109.130
  2 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 202.73.47.253
  3 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms 116.51.18.9
  4 72 ms 72 ms 73 ms as-1.r22.tokyjp01.jp.bb.gin.ntt.net [129.250.5.20]
  5 71 ms 72 ms 71 ms p16-7-1-1.r22.tokyjp01.jp.ce.gin.ntt.net [129.250.12.70]
  6 71 ms 71 ms 70 ms vlan907-an-cat6k-tl2.starhub.net.sg [203.118.3.174]
  7 70 ms 76 ms 70 ms gi8-1-0-an-ats-loc04.starhub.net.sg [203.118.7.11]
  8 70 ms 71 ms 71 ms 203.116.80.199

Trace complete.
All Starhub hosted TF2 and other steam servers are practically unplayable. It's like I'm playing from Japan. Also, why is the so called "user portal for checking stats" not openly available and require email and other stuff to activate?

This was from a Starhub Cable connection:
Code:
Tracing route to 203.116.80.199 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1 9 ms 7 ms 9 ms cm1.sigma13.maxonline.com.sg [218.212.13.1]
  2 10 ms 8 ms 7 ms 172.20.33.1
  3 8 ms 11 ms 11 ms 172.26.33.1
  4 76 ms 23 ms 10 ms 172.20.7.86
  5 19 ms 16 ms 7 ms 172.20.9.50
  6 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms 203.116.6.57
  7 30 ms 16 ms 8 ms gi8-1-0-an-ats-loc04.starhub.net.sg [203.118.7.11]
  8 10 ms 7 ms 8 ms 203.116.80.199

Can't use the Zhone's wifi as bridged, the wifi is part of the router function and runs vlans. Would have to check with Zhone if it's possible and how to configure it.

thanks to AntonS for granting the access, i now manage to configure zhone as a addition AP for my LAN while zhone still remain bridge mode for internet.

mainly because my primary multiwan router does not have wifi.

setting is fairly simple, just create a new bridged vlan interface, and set the pvid and edit the port membership as untag member for the wlan interface and the eth (for my case eth4) interface connecting to my router. connect the lan cable from my router to zhone port 4, voila, a new AP for my LAN

now i can have one AP for mobile devices and another AP for laptops

i notice the zhone GUI does support 40MHz bandwidth (270mbps) on wireless N, but it doesn't seem to want to stay on the 40MHz bandwidth thus the stuck at 144mbps

and the zhone wireless support wireless bridging, though i never try

Bravo.

By exploration and sharing back with VQ, we consumers allow the RSP (VQ in this case) to improve and enhance their service back to other consumers.

I'm actually having the same issue as the guy above. Any local hosted server by starhub somehow gets routed to japan then back to starhub.
