Easier to visualise if you break it down with date and day. Morning train to ayu will be like before 9am, dont think it is possible to rush back from amphawa like that, unless u not staying overnight amphawa.

Train from Ayu to CM, this leg is good haha but need time properly as you cant afford to miss the train

Check out Thai airway from CM to BKK, previously got promo dunno still have or not.

erm i intend to do the railway & floating markets on the 22nd.. ayutthaya on 23rd so IF everything goes according to plan still ok!

wahh ur accommodation in cm looks quite atas.. hw much per night?? i only intend to stay in those b&b kinda place

A bit more expensive then those guesthouse, but then since it is my first trip there so I want something near to everything and within walking distance.

From the hotel I can just walk to warorot market (5mins), night bazaar (5 mins) and TaePhae gate (7 mins) where the Sunday night market starts from.

On Saturday night I even walked all the way to the Saturday night market at Wua Lai street took me about 20 minutes slow walk.

Too bad unable to go during Loi Krathong, as being told that the big parade will be passing right in front of the hotel

I got it at around $35 per night. Location wise really very very good. Just opposite the hotel got a laundry shop, 30bahts per kg or 50bahts per kg if need iron press. And also found good massage shop just opposite, traditional thai massage 199 bahts per hour. Got the spa resort feel as you will do your massage in private enclosure

And yes, I am now starting to plan for Song Kran 2013 This one need find more ppl to form water bomb gang

Again, the war zone will be right in front of this hotel, so The Small Hotel is it, not going to waste time finding other lodging liao

Hope you didnt mix up the two hotels The date you going is their peak period at Chiang Mai, heard all hotel subcharge at least 500 bahts per night.

For those interested in making merits by donating coffins, take MRT to SAM YAN station. Just one stop before Hua Lamphong. Once you come up you will see Wat Hua Lamphong. It is a small chinese temple beside.

Fill up the red paper. Per coffin is 500 bahts, you may write other amounts or on the same paper write a few names.

This post is for sharing and benefit of some bro and sis who asked me abt it. If it is deem inappropiate to be post here, I will remove it.

Give the red paper to the staff and they will issue you with a white receipt after collecting the money from you.

Next, with both red and white papers on hand, go to the temple hall to pray pray and make your wish. (sorry no photo cos no one to take for me )

Paste the red paper on the coffin on display

For the white receipt, you may bring it back or burn it in the burner inside the temple hall.

I only got 3d2n in Chiang Mai, thus no time for those activities. Anyway also intending to save those activities, esp flight of gibbons, for my April trip

The frequency of departures is around one train per hour with exceptions stated below.
Delays are frequent.
From Bangkok Airport Don Muang to Bangkok Railway Station Hua Lamphong
During weekdays trains run between 02.09 a.m. - 08.08 p.m. with a break during the afternoon between 02.11 p.m. - 05.02 p.m.

During weekends there is in addition also a break in the morning between 06.09 a.m. - 08.01 a.m.
From Bangkok Railway Station Hua Lamphong to Bangkok Airport Don Muang
During weekdays trains run between 04.20 a.m. - 11.40 p.m.

During weekends trains start running at 06.40 a.m. with a 4h 30m break in the afternoon. There is one train departing Hua Lamphong 03.20 p.m. with the next train at 07.50 p.m.

Dont need to cross the road.

After claim your baggage come out turn right for the exit. Once outside you will see this

walk against the traffic flow until you able to reach the main road. The sharp pointed roof towards the left of the pict is the bus stop.

As for taking train, you need to take the lift to level 2, you will see the overhead linked way to the Amari Don Mueang Airport hotel and also the train station across the road.

The train schedule should be hourly but delay is frequent. Also the time taken from DM to Hua Lamphong is about 30 minutes.
