Anybody remember this?

Yes it was the SGP Spigen Glas.T for the original Galaxy Note, a thin piece of glass measuring 0.4mm that shook my world with it's quality, right up to the launch day when I collected my Galaxy Note II.

1st April 2012, to 19th October 2012, the Spigen Glas.T was by far the BEST and valuable hoot ever as a cell phone accessories. After 6 months of endless swyping (I use swype and I can assure you my right thumb has moved more than 100km in that short 6 months), what the Glas.T looks like was just like what it was out of the box. Fingerprints get wiped easily away, clarity is top notch, no signs of coating being rubbed away :D

Naturally, the curvature of the S III was undeniable a favourite for the Korea engineers, they took that curved screen, they did reduce the curve BUT ITS STILL CURVED, onto the Note II screen. End up, we heard news Spigen needs more time to R&D a glass that's I presume, curved? to fit the Note II.

Fortunately, we have companies like Spigen itself, Xgear, iFeel, GlassZone who designed a glass so perfect that it could hide the imperfection of a curved surface, a bordered one.

Why not colourless? Just as transparent as Note, iPhone 5, iPad glass? Reason is darn simple, transparent border would reveal that the glass isn't pasting well on the phone especially on the curved sides, and people will complain, RMA, so why not just have a coloured border to hide the ugly fact?

So, GlassZone took the lead this time for Note II.

Ladies and Gentlemen, May I present you, the GlassZone glass protector, for the Samsung Galaxy Note II :)

Who wants to see the box, anyway, let's check the inside...

Very very minimal, as barren as a desert can be, just the glass, a piece of badly written manual and a hideously looking bronze brown useless bum wipe, keep that for your dog.

A little bit on GlassZone protector. They been in the market for god knows how long years, but they never gained popularity. Reason very simple, when you do a glass, you better do like a Spigen, a glass that's not just visually appealing, but sexually appealing. How to achieve that? Well that glass has to let your eyes stick onto it, and be an attention seeker.

Glasszone, failed.

I'm not a punkish guy, I'm decently indecent at times, but I like the clean look of my phone. Hey man, the titanium grey, the brushee feeling of the Note II (grey), that's like the pinnacle, mother of all designs! But when you do apply the GlassZone over, not only it covers that whatever brushee, it give you nonsense instead.

Black Border, Sparkling effect. Wah lao eh (pardon about that)

Already send straight to my doorstep, what else can I do? Send back? Chuck it? Sorry, my $2 SP from FokkyMobile has a really decent cut, it felt like it was cut by Spigen, i really feel sorry to pull it out but the fingerprints on it just irks me off.

There you go SP, all hail the new Glass! Works with S$2.50 TPU from Obostore!

In comparison to Spigen SGP Glas.T for Note, here is my rating for GlassZone Note II

Results in relativity

Clarity - 4/10
Feel - 10/10
Looks - 1/10
Oil resistance - 8/10 (too early to tell)
Workability (with sensors, camera, LED noti, SPEN!!!) - 9/10
Thickness - 10/10 (0.4mm is neither thin or thick, but I can still reach out for the home button effortlessly)
Price - 20/10
Price worthiness ratio - 5/10

Bottomline

An average product, just give you the assertion that it's glass, works like glass, but fails in aesthetic.

And what bothers me mosttttttt

Wait, zoom in more for you guys?

GOD DAMN IT, IT FELT LIKE LAYING A 320*240 PIXELATED GLASS OVER MY PRECIOUS NOTE II...

But, luckily, it does not appear in real life situation, bright light or in the dark, however I can still see it from an angle at times. For this, the clarity suffers because I ogle at how my phone looks like when the screen is off.

Glad I did not have to measure. I normally use with index or middle finger, sometimes thumb too. Its a very flexible system, smaller means lower kickstand too. Just get a general size unless toothpick fingers

I emailed the coy and they replied BKR3 2013 is only available at online shops and these shops only sell small size which is considered standard diameter and sufficient size. :s11:

I guess it'll be snug fit for my middle finger second knuckle. Not sure how well it'll work when using it at that knuckle position but I'll probably buy one to find out.
