iPhone Jailbreaking, Restoring & Unlocking Guide[Pls read first post] - Part 2

Hey guys, i need help!!!

I restored my ip5 from my ip4s backup (jb from absinthe).

I realise my ip5 batt life very bad. Use carat and found that there is this absinthe process. So i decided to restore new the phone, and restore from icloud. Hoping that will del off the absinthe process, but apparently after restoring from icloud, i still have the absinthe process running in the background.

Anyway to solve this?

IMO, the process can be ignored, I may be wrong. Turn off your unnecessary settings that drains battery without you knowing; iCloud (sync once to get your stuffs like contact and log off the account. Set time manually instead of automatically at date and time settings. Set mail to manual/fetch instead of push. This is it

My iphone 4S is jailbroken. but i noticed my system apps seem to hang or lag. eg. music app tend to lag when scrolling through my songs or sometimes it doesn't respond. browser too hangs after using awhile.

Tweaks installed from Cydia runs on RAM and CPU power as well, so naturally having more than what that your 4s can handle will slow down your phone. That's why iOS is as smooth as silk, and tweaks are not implemented. Removing what you can or don't want/need will help with your problem. Jailbreaking is at a cost of performance, for customization.

Have your friend tried the following?

1) Reinstall Facebook app.
2) Remove and re-add Facebook log in information to iOS 6.
3) Has he/she tried to upload via cellular or wifi?

I just uploaded one to Facebook. 4s and iOS 6 as well, through M1's 3G.

fix the issue. it was because the sharing photo interface changed. gotta go to photos & choose facebook & then share from there.

i'm on iphone4, iOS 4.3.3 (greenpoison JB) and wish to update to iOS 5.1.1 (downloaded 5.1.1_9B208)

Redsn0w method - Works on ALL DEVICES on all firmwares except iPad2 and iPhone 4S.
- Download Redsn0w HERE
- Download the appropriate firmware for your iDevice HERE
- Run Redsn0w and select Jailbreak
- Follow the instructions to enter DFU mode then select "Install Cydia" in the next screen.
- Jailbreak your phone
- Any unforseen errors, please refer to the second post for troubleshooting solutions


is there anything i need to take note or can i follow the procedures above to JB over my current setup? do i have to restore SHSH or etc?

I don't think you can upgrade to 5.1.1 since you don't have the blobs saved. But worth a try. But before doing anything upgrade/downgrade/update please save your 4.3.3 blobs so that you can get back on this version if anything happens.

i just back up my SHSH again. on the top of my Cydia, it shows iOS 4.2.1, 4.3.3, 4.3.5, 4.3-b1, 4.3-b2, 4.3-b3, 5.0.1, 5.1, 5.1.1, 5.1.1r1, 6.01. does it mean cydia saved the 5.1.1 SHSH for me?

what must i do different from the normal steps? i plan to use Absinthe 2.0.4 instead of redsnow..

i think i managed to extract my SHSH from Cydia, 5.1.1 and 5.1.1b now appears in tinyumbrella.

does it mean i have to use redsn0w to create custom 5.1.1b firmware to tag the "signed" 5.1.1b SHSH?

stitched 5.1.1b shsh & created custom ipsw, then pwned dfu, pointed to the custom ipsw but keep getting error 3194. edited hosts but still getting error 3194.

tried to set to pwned dfu, use tinyumb to start TSS server, able to reach "preparing to restore" step, wait for quite some time then prompted 16XX (1600, 1601, 1602) errors.

off-ed antivirus and firewall. anyone can help?

3194 is because apple stopped signing it. You shift clicked restore in iTunes right? The rest I really haven't idea, been long since I last downgraded.

Can try updating to latest, 6.0.1 then use red snow to downgrade to stitched firmware and jailbreak it.

EDIT: Just recalled that iOS 6/6.0.1 can be jailbroken by red snow as well, pre-A5 devices tethered one though. Can consider if you don't feel the need to reboot.

Anything above 4s and iPad 2 using A5 and higher processor will have jailbreak after A4 devices like 4. It's not for 4s, yet.

wouldnt want to take that gamble, because might face same issues with jailbreaking. at least now if it fails the phone is still on 4.3.3jb.

Which ios version is recommanded? 5.0.1 or 5.1.1?
As i have no experience in upgrading n jailbreaking, can anyone gimme some advice?
