hi wise.. tnks for the reply.. im using channel 11 with wpa2/AES encrytion
any other settings i need to tweak?
i was hoping to get at least 50mbps.. but this is quite bad~

Try CH 1 & 6 too. Put your router nearer to your room and in a higher position, eg Top of a cabinet if you have one beside your TV console OR mount it high on the wall .

My ONT is connected to an Aztech 500 mbps homeplug.

There is an Aztech 500 mpbs homeplug connected to a CPU in my study room.

There is another Aztech 200 mpbs homeplug connected to a Linksys WRT54g router in my living room.

The problem is whenever I am connected to my CPU in my study room, I would not be able to get wifi connection from the router, vice versa. How can I get my CPU connected and yet be able to receive wifi connection from the router at the same time?

Have I connected something wrongly? Please advise. Thank you.

Your setup is abit wrong.
It should be

ONT --> WRT54G --> Homeplug --> Homeplug --> study room

Recommend you upgrade the WRT54G to a better model.

i wouldn't suggest signing up as a separate account.. some people may be already using their preferred username, or have other lines under their name for bundled discount.. as frustrating as it was, the positive thing i can take out from my experience was that i faced very limited downtime (although it was during the time i was doing work) as promised by the CS.. so if you want to change from white ONT to black, maybe the following list (non exhaustive and based on my experience) might be useful:

hi all, based on my last update, i can now return the RG back to M1.. so i did it yesterday.. note that u can only return the RG at customer service centres (IMM, paragon, raffles city).. i went to IMM with what i have, queued up for the number, and when it was my turn, the M1 shop personnel checked my contents.. turns out i was missing a LAN cable and telephone line.. they told me missing components are chargeable, and for each cable, i will be charged S$21.40 per cable, which i know is super overpriced. told them the provided LAN cable was spoilt, and i was still using the telephone cable to the black ONT.. after 5-10 mins of going in an out of the office (i'm assuming she was trying to replace the missing component for me), she said she found an extra telephone cable, but i still have to pay for the LAN cable.. at this point, i told her that S$21.40 for a 1M cable (i think the original provided cable was 1M) is very overpriced, and whether there is another way. I didn't wan to return the RG any other day as all the centres are out of the way for me, and i wan to settle my recontract situation as soon as possible. she then came back to me and said that she will send in a request to waived off the LAN cable..

out of curiousity (and to provide more information for you guys), i asked her what are the required components M1 is looking for in the RG return, and how much each component costs, if missing. here's the breakdown:

- Huawei Router Gateway (did not ask how much)
- Original power adapter (did not ask how much)
- Original box (S$5.35)
- Driver CD (S$5.35)
- Manual (S$5.35)
- Telephone cable (S$21.40)
- LAN cable (S$21.40)

so if u guys are planning to return ur router, please make sure u have the above component, else prepare to pay for the missing ones..

Hi there. I just got my m1 fibre 100mbps connection. Connect my Belkin PlayMax Wireless Router. Hit a speed of 20+ via wifi. Acceptable to me since I just surf net on my mobile devices. However, because of the brilliant architect that designed my HDB flat, I'm unable to detect any wifi signal in my room. It's separated by a few solid concrete walls with no direct clear path. Would upgrading to ASUS 66U helps or should I get a wireless wifi home plug as I will be connecting my desktop with home plug. Thanks

Don't think the N66U can help. Homeplugs will help.

you can boost the signal to max in the n66 config, but it still depends on your wall and also your PC wireless card.

This homeplug looks good... Aztech HL110EW. comes with LAN port so u can use it for ur PC and also acts as a wifi extender, so u can also use wifi in your room....http://www.aztech.com/sg/homeplug_hl110ew.html

i dunno abt the performance, nv use a homeplug b4...

i wonder this homeplug wifi get it's source signal from the powerline? or repeating existing wifi signal?

if its repeating existing wifi signal, den i cannot put it in a total blind spot...

but if it gets it's source signal from the powerline, den i can put it in a total blind spot area...

will be better if LAN can go to 1Gbps... :D

i remember reading some thread that mention the 200Mbps homeplug not that stable. you may wanna try using the 115EP (500Mbps) instead. Better feedback.

Aztech Singapore

personally im using this 115EP with Asus Rt66, average speed on my desktop via Homeplug is 82Mbps

The signal is from the powerline. My apple tv is at the far corner where wifi from my router cannot reach.
