restarting made the crypto problem come back though.

That's expected as any changes must be done though FFP, at least can confirmed that "read" access is good enough for Transmission to stop misbehaving. Will apply this on my modded together with new version of Transmission in the next release.

Now to resolve SSHd once and for all.

I'm pretty certain that the cause of Transmission's crypto errors is due to file permission of device random/urandom on the DNS-320L. So simply setting the file permission for "others" to "read" access should suffice.

If anyone need help on this, please let me know.

Hi albert,

need your help here on setting the file permission

Hi albert,

need your help here on setting the file permission

Edit /ffp/etc/fun_plug.local and add the following:
chmod 0664 /dev/random /dev/urandom

This should take care of the file permission that cause Transmission to misbehave.

You meant the original script or after you have made modification to it? Apparently you have introduce non-ascii text using your own editor. This is why I have pre-installed nano editor, use this instead.

Perhaps you're not following what's going on, SSHd doesn't work whether on my modded or the original FFP from Fonz. LX2010 has found workaround for this problem but not very idea as he edit the script directly which will get overwritten when new SSHd is out.

FYI, I tested out my modded version on DNS-320 and whether it's telnet, SSH or Transmission, all worked without further modification.

As I stated before, without access to DNS-320L, it's very difficult to come out with workable solution fast.

Thanks a lot Albert. I think I'm all done now. Transmission working very well, using it with 'transmission remote gui' and 'add to transmission' makes downloading a breeze as compared to the stock downloader. Wouldn't have been possible without your help. :D

Just wondering though.. do you have experience with pyload? Thought I'd try installing that next using this guide (http://nas-tweaks.net/220/installation-of-pyload-on-optware/) so maybe i can drop questions when problems come up.

Okay. pyload installed without hitches for my 320L, following this guide.
Installation of PyLoad on Optware

Its a program which helps you download from one-click-hosts. I tested adding a 29 file mediafire batch. Seems to work well so far.

Remember to install optware following the guide as well.

You probably dont have to install py25-django in the 1st step of the guide though. The new version of pyload doesn't need that.

Firefox users can use flashgot & follow the instructions here...
Google Translate
to setup a right-click / add links to python. Change the settings on the webinterface of pyload so that it can accept links externally. (can't rmb if its that of an addon 'click2load' in pyload or some other main setting)

Will the 320L reformat my HDD if it is taken out of the 320 and plugged into 320L. Mine is not raided. The last time I took out the HDD and plug into 320 from 323 it reformatted and I lost everything. Don't want to buy bew HDD just for migration.

hi all... need some help. i recently got a dns 320L and set it up with raid1 2tb x 2.

got it to work fine and managed to set up network drive etc...

then i managed to set up my media player (popcorn hour a110) to see the media folder after a lot of trial and error and figuring out how to set up the NFS network shares.

here is my problem - i can see the files and click on them but they won't play. they go into 'buffering' and then freezes

previously i had my media streamed from a netbook via smb on the same network without any problems.

a little bit lost now as the whole point of a NAS is to remove the netbook from the equation!

i've used static ip for both NAS and player. Set up NFS to allow Player read and write access.

my 320L cannot be connect to the starhub provided modem (DVG-N5402SP)

the ethernet port at the back of 320L is not even lighting up.

no such problem with dir-300 though.

anyone has any solutions?

problem solved: the problem is the ethernet cable that they provided.

Anyone knows how to get the UPNP server working on the 320L? Or perhaps stuff that can be installed to replace the default upnp server?

Seems to have the same problem as that of the 320 on older firmware.

Exactly the same prob as this link http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=134546

Read a bit about twonky and mediatomb but I'm a bit lost on what to do.

Simple, just create one using nano editor.

nano /ffp/etc/fun_plug.local

Copy and paste the command in and save using Ctrl-X.
