The delay is purely due to LTE. Remember, even USA has yet to launch LTE.

In Indonesia they are already doing preorder. Retail price Rp 5,5 million for the 3G version. (Translated to SGD it's about $710). Shipping starts on 1st May.

We should just drop the subject since that particular thread is already closed.

Mentioning it here may potentially cause the argument to continue here and ruin this thread as well.

I think it's not wise to buy Wi-Fi.

after all, the beauty of Samsung tablets less the first gen are that they are phones as well :)

that wait was 4 months.

but I'm pretty sure both might be launched within weeks apart or even together, with 3G marketed as lower tier sold through superstores and 4G tied with Telco plans and also the former channel.

I hope Samsung don't make life too complicated. Just let the Note 8.0 installed with 3G & LTE rather than having so many different models.

The LTE model should work with 3G network. But for markets that don't have LTE network, it makes more sense to release the 3G only models.

Wanna Share some thoughts about the note 8.0

Been using my note 8.0 for 3 days, wanna share some thoughts here:

Design and Build:

It really just looks like a big note 2, the design aesthetics is almost the same.
Even though its made of plastic, the whole unit feels incredibly solid and sturdy, never felt it to be cheap at all. Feels light and nicely balanced.

Performance

Fast and snappy, no lag so far. Similar to a Galaxy note 2.

S-Pen

Works very very well, i dare say its feel more responsive than even my note 2.
Bigger screen estate makes it a WHOLE lot better to write stuff on compared to the note 2.

Menu and back button now works with the S-Pen.

Screen

The screen is surprisingly clear and vibrant, a whole lot better than the ipad mini actually. Sure the DPI is low, and you can tell that the text is just a little jagged if you really stare hard and put it very near your face.
Lets face it, why would you wanna stick the tablet so near your face anyway.
Its definitely better than the 10.1.

At the proper reading distance, the screen is really fantastic.
I been reading some books on this with no issues at all.
Movies adn photos look great on this as well.

Battery Life

Pretty good, unplugged since 3am, watched videos(mix of HD & SD), note taking, surfing the web, email checking, reading. I'm currently down to 19%. If memory serves me correct, I believe that my iPad Mini had better batt life but the note 8.0 is no slouch either.
Note that you can turn on power saving if you want to.

Cons

The Menu and Back capactitive buttons, its irritating when using them in landscape, i accidentally pressed them a few times.

Overall its shaping up to be a really fine tablet, can't really find much cons other than the capactitive buttons and maybe the price. A very worthy tablet for your consideration. :D

i think for the battery life wise, it's not much of a review since battery life might degrade over time
