No worries about running hot and stuffy at 4.8GHz on a daily basis thanks to a properly working CnQ implementation, just see the average vcore applied over an hour+ of web surfing and news reading this morning - a mere 0.915V, 18W as reported by hwinfo64 with cool temps too.

Despite pumping in 1.4+V into the APU at 4.8GHz, it still results in the low 50+C max load temps in the screenshots seen above.

Like Ivy/Haswell, AMD APU cores are also not soldered to the IHS but the big difference is AMD does NOT purposely cripple their chips with sneaky overheating techniques which is very welcome for overclockers.

New test BIOS received... quashes some minor bugs and intros new options too.

Redid my 4.8GHz in just a few seconds flat since it is just so easy.

iGPU HD 8670D@1.17GHz!
Had been doing 1086MHz uvoc till now so decided to check out how far it can go on stock volts

Increasing the RAM speed to DDR3-2133 (and DDR3-2400) does net a big jump in bench scores... however running a high o'c like 4.8GHz may suffer the cost of lost P95 Blend stability at higher RAM speeds, DDR3-1866 seems fine.

On the Extreme6+, I am running overclocked 24/7 at 4.8GHz CPU uvoc as well as 1.17GHz on the HD8670D iGPU at stock volts which I simply wouldn't want to do on any other mobo cos they don't know how to cannot support video CnQ properly once overclocked.

Looks are subjective and imo, still no fight against a good solid mobo with a way better BIOS.


PS: Looks aside, the UP4 actually has better onboard power than the Sniper but the BIOS also CMI for 24/7 o'c...
