Ram 8gb but only 2.21gb usable. How to activate all?

I've 8gb ram installed onto windows 7 32bit. but only 2.21gb is usable. how can i activate the remainder?

No. You will not be able to use 8gb. Its they physical limitations of your OS which is only 32bit. Best is 64bit OS to utilize all 8gb.

32 bit operating systems are only able to address up to 4GB of RAM. Therefore you need a 64 bit version to overcome this.

Yup it's the architectural limitation of 32 bit OS.

I was folowing this guide to installing windows 7 64bit as i do not have the CD, but when i click on the setup on the file, it came out this error.

Anyway i can re-install it?

One does not simply install a 64-bit OS into an existing 32-bit OS...

Just a question. How are u going to activate the product key of your 64 bit windows 7? i dont 32 bit and 64 bit uses the same ones right?

Download a program called 'Gavotte Ramdisk'. I'm now using it with 32-bit Win XP and none of my RAM is wasted by 32-bit memory address limitations.

Rocket3, you are basically telling him to create a ramdisk out of the unusable memory. I believe ts want to utilize the full 8gb ram in 32bit os. Which is not possible unless you use the PAE switch.

That is irrelevant. Your computer isn't using ram as it should be, more like using it as a very fast solid state drive.

Burn installation files into a DVD/CD and boot up with that and it will prompt installation.

I recommend you download Win 7 64 bit iso file and burn that instead since you seems to have downloaded win7 unpacked files.

You can use this Microsoft Store - Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool

Remember your Win 7 product key.

Using RAM as ramdisk =/= Using RAM as RAM
