Its only slightly faster than GTX780ti and 290x.........
Its better in terms of power consumption.

Exactly.
Its just a more efficient GTX 780Ti.
My advice is wait for the true GM200/GM210(whatever the name is) to be out which showcases the true prowess of the Maxwell architecture.
Remember this is just the 'mid range' version of Maxwell. But I must admit for a mid range Maxwell it is very good.

Will gpus based on gm200/210 be coming anytime soon? otherwise the gtx 970 is looking so value-for-money!
never heard of the gm 200/210. Is it a ** model?
I don't think it's a disappointment at all. Having a tdp of roughly a gtx 760and performing roughly a gtx 780ti, that's impressive stuff IMO.
It's aimed at the hardcore gamers, meaning the gpus based on gm200 will be theoretically even more powerful than gtx 970/980.
For instance, The Titan II is supposed to be a gm200 gpu.
But i am not sure when they are coming out???
It will never end if you're talking abt powerful. My take is, upgrade you gfx card every 3 to 5 years. If you replace annually, you won't find much difference.
Personally an upgrade is justifiable if it offers at least twice the performance of my existing parts.
I cannot see how a card that is supposed to be on a lower tier than the 780ti and the 290x, perform better than them, and yet consume less power, be disappointing.
Hahah.... fanboy-ism is blind, let alone stupid.
