Just tested NAT loopback, it’s working fine on my end.

NAT looping seems to work for non HTTPS, HTTPS is flaky it can sometimes work (some IOT device HTTPS web management page) but usually don't especially for IP cams, might be a certificate trust issue, no idea. It was however working great on my older RT-N66U, same settings manually copied over to the RT-AC87U.

2.4Ghz cannot access internet

Hi Hi, did you guy encounter this? when I switch to 2.4Ghz, the network connection on my notebook will show limited, or cannot connect to internet.

I have no problem with 5Ghz mode

Anyone experience on this and any solution.

Despite of changing the channel, encryption and wireless mode, still did not solve the problem,

Thanks

I previously had issues of internet redirect to my router page. Just turn off 'redirect page' option in WAN setting. See if this helps

Thanks for the info,
however I cannot see the option which can turn off the redirect page on the wan setting.

There should be no fundamental difference between NAT loopback for HTTP and HTTPS.

I host a site on HTTPS and have no issues with NAT loopback.

NAT loopback operates at the TCP/UDP layer and is not affected by what application is running on it.

My NAT loopback works for my Asus router on HTTP. My NAS NAT loopback on HTTPS just don't work.

RMerlin's AC87 releases

376.47 Release (21-Sept-2014) is out

Changelog:
376.47 (20-Sept-2014)
- NEW: Added sha256 and sha512 HMAC support to dropbear (SSH)
- CHANGED: Moved OpenVPN postconf scripts right before server/client
gets started, so you can also use them to modify the other
generated files such as the exported ovpn config file.
- FIXED: SSHD options visibility (patch by pinwing)
- FIXED: EMF/IGMP settings were reverting to the select profile
default (Asus bug introduced in GPL 2678)
- FIXED: PPTP account list failed to display (regression in Beta 1)
- FIXED: VPN server page was switching back to PPTP when changing
OpenVPN unit and you were initially on the PPTP page
- FIXED: Activity indicator wasn't shown during a networkmap
scan

376.47 Beta 1 (14-Sept-2014)
- NEW: Merged with Asus GPL 2678 (AC87)
- NEW: Report Quantenna FW version on Sysinfo page
- NEW: Enabled experimental FTP and Samba Cloud Sync support in AiCloud.
This feature is still in development by Asus, so it might not be
fully functional yet.
- NEW: Enabled experimental SNMPD support, under Administration -> SNMP.
This feature is still in development by Asus, so it might not be
fully functional yet. (not available on the RT-N16)
- NEW: Added option to enable WAN access to SNMPD, defaults to disabled.
(Asus's implementation has it open to the WAN by default)
- CHANGED: Re-increased max allowed FTP user limit to 10 (was reverted
to 5 in the GPL merge when the setting was moved to the
FTP page)
- FIXED: PPTPD was getting enabled every time you clicked Apply while on
the PPTPD VPN Server page

Hi xrisoneil,

I am not sure of this option is available on .2678 as I am now on RMerlin's latest 376.47 firmware (build upon official .2678). The option is found under WAN page...

Asus@sg will be a better person to ask for official Asus firmware support. :D

can this router make full use of the LAN ports as internet port if I don't have MioTV? any build in profile? or I need to run some NVRam setting in order to configure the MioTV port to Internet port? Thanks.

Thanks maylyn for updating us in both SNB and hwz that i've seen...

i've updated the firmware with a reset.

Just to feedback to asus@sg, 2769 did not resolve the WPS issue on 5ghz. will monitor for several days to see if any new bugs are present.. :)

Your reset means reboot or factory reset settings?
