First Gaming Rig

Hello, I have been owning notebooks my entire life, and I wish to build my first desktop.

I plan to play games such as arma3,watchdogs and probably gta5 in the future on high-ultra settings as I could never have done it on my notebooks. Occasionally doing photoshop for images too. Noise is a slight factor too, followed by aesthetics(Red & Black Theme). Please advise on my current build. Thanks!

if so, overclock em with water cooled everything + sli setup!
and build everything under a vector desk!

OC nowadays is over-rated.

My personal recommendation is to don't bother. You'll end up thinking later that you rather have bought a non-K chip and B85/H97 board & the savings went towards better peripherals.

Hmm, this is what I have observed with the new toy.

HEVC-H.265, H.264 Encoding/Transcoding
4790k (stock) saves me a lot of time in this aspect when running turbo at 4.4 as compared to my previous 4590 running turbo at 3.7 (time savings range from tens of minutes to an hour depending on the resolution and other parameters which I have used for encoding).

Running at 4.5x4 oc improve rendering timing of stock by a couple of minutes.

Matlab 2013a
Running biomedical mathematical models on simulink allows me to generate data graphs and tables faster than my previous chip.

Gaming
As I am not a hardcore gamer, heart of the swarm, dt2, LOL, L4D2, and bf4 all feel the same to me. My eyes cannot pick up any differences. Gameplay is also smooth with my previous 4590 chip. The only difference is the increase in the framerate (<10 for more modern games and >10-20 for older games).

Normal use
Browser, office, opening up of applications are the same as before. Nothing changes. Doesn't feel 'more snappier'.

AutoCAD/ Other Professional Softwares
Go ask others lol.

You can also go weigh in other factors not listed here from my observation ba haha but to any enthusiast with $.$ the above are all rubbish. For me, I am using the only the oc profile for 1 and 2. Gaming wise, others might oc but not for me.
