Four friends/fledgling entrepreneurs, knowing that there's something bigger and more innovative than the different error-checking devices they've built, wrestle over their new invention.

So you think Memento is mindfarking. Or whatever film you think is mindblowing. But trust me, you haven't seen one until you've seen Primer.

My recommendation is to watch Primer with subtitles. The film is made to be confusing on purpose. As far as I know, no one will be able to understand it fully on their first watch and will usually rely on googling to resolve the story. No matter how hard you try to keep up, I'm pretty damn sure you'll be lost around 3/4 into the film. But trust me, it's all worth it.

There's no better closing to this than a picture.

just watched this yest... FULLY agree about the description... i have NO IDEA what is going on at the end of the movie... even after watching this googled for the explanations i still dun understand.... i think i need several more repeat watching + re-reading those websites to figure this out...

I'll make this very clear. If you are a time travel junkie who have read a ton of time travel books and knows you've read the best time travel story of all time. Stop reading this review now.

If you don't. Well, I went into "Predestination" only knowing it's a time travel story. Halfway through the film, I realized it's based on my FAVOURITE time travel story of all time. I loved that story so much that I even posted it in EDMW a couple of years ago to great response.

"Predestination" is based on a famous short story called "All You Zombies". Don't read it. Don't even google it if you wanna enjoy this movie.

I read it about 8 years ago and I've always wondered if it will be made into a film since it's a short story. Whenever I watch a time travel film, I'll reference it again "All You Zombies". Ironically, I went into "Predestination" with absolutely no idea it's based on "All You Zombies". When the eventual scene came in and I realize what it is, I knew it'll be on this list. I know it'll be fantastic.

No matter who you are, I can guarantee you'll love this film like how many people loved the short story.

I'm at 1 hours and almost 15 mins into the movie. WTFFF
