Dear peeps~
I have managed to score a ticket at the very last minute to Tokyo from 16-23 March.
Since I have been to Tokyo for 2 times alrdy, I am thinking of venturing out perhaps to Osaka for this coming trip.
However I'm an absolute disaster when it comes to planning iti >___< And further more I'm traveling solo this time. So I am wondering if anyone would be so kind as to provide me with their Tokyo-Osaka-Tokyo itinerary and stays for me to shadow for my trip?
Many thanks in advance!!
Remember, if you plan on getting the 7 days JR Pass, you will HAVE to purchase it from OUTSIDE of Japan (in Singapore) before you leave for Japan.
Here is my suggestion...
16/3 Arrival at Tokyo. Stay at Tokyo (try to stay near either Tokyo station or Shinagawa station so that you can avoid taking your luggage and squeeze on the local trains during morning rush hour at Tokyo to the Shinkansen stations in Tokyo on the morning of 18/3. Tokyo station and Shinagawa station have Shinkansen access, as well as Narita Express train linking to the Narita Airport).
17/3 (JR Pass day 1) Tokyo. Visit Tokyo (or maybe Yokohama, if you want). Stay at Tokyo.
18/3 Tokyo to Shin-Osaka via Shinkansen. Visit Osaka (Osaka castle + Shinsaibashi + Dotonbori). Stay at Osaka (maybe near Shin-Osaka station since you will be taking Shinkansen to Osaka therefore you won't have to lug your luggage to squeeze the local trains at Osaka)
19/3 Visit Nara in the day (JR Yamatoji line from Tennoji station in Osaka to JR Nara station in Nara), then visit Osaka in the evening. Stay at Osaka.
20/3 Either visit Kyoto or Kobe or Himeji or Hiroshima on this day. Stay at Osaka.
21/3 Take short 14mins Shinkansen ride from Shin-Osaka station to Kyoto station in the early morning. Visit Kyoto (Kiyomizudera + Higashiyama + Maruyama Park + Philosopher's Path, if have sakura bloom, + Ginkaku-ji) . Stay at Osaka or Kyoto.
22/3 Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka (or Kyoto, depending on where you stayed the night before) back to Tokyo in the morning. Visit Tokyo (if sakura bloomed earlier than normal, you could try visiting Ueno park). Stay at Tokyo.
23/3 (JR Pass day 7) Take Narita Express train (can use with JR Pass) from either Ikebukuro or Shinjuku or Shibuya or Shinagawa or Tokyo station to Narita Airport.
