Hi guys, I intend to get an air purifier for one of my bedrooms. Being checking out the stores ans spotted this brand IFAN model no IF3232 selling for $199. This is my first time buying one, so would like some opinion abt this particular item. Thanks.

http://www.ifan.com.sg/ifan/if3232

SGD199 is a decent price for that. Replacement filters need to source from taobao i guess (either you customise from a seller or you get existing ones and DIY cut into size). the IFAN is simialr to the Novita NAP501i

Though i'd prefer you get the Samsung AX40 or LG LA-Q379SB, latter is SGD278 FedEX shipped qoo10.sg. More powerful and branded.

I got another batch of Taobao HEPA filters for my LG PS-R459.

Stock LG HEPA is 360 x 340 x 31mm.
Taobao HEPA I customise as 361 x 342 x 45mm. Material is the cheaper polypropylene that gives higher resistance but efficiency is still decent at 97% as measured by my laser partice counter.

Measured airflow by my anemometer this time round (at one particular same spot).

LG stock H13 = 21.36kph
Taobao HEPA = 22.20kph

RMB140 each for this customisation

Slight haze in Singapore on Friday evening

Published on Apr 3, 2015 8:28 PM

SINGAPORE - Slight haze clouded Singapore on Friday, as the three-hour Pollution Standards Index (PSI) rose to 86 at 8pm. The 24-hour PSI reading was between 56 to 62, according to the National Environment Agency's (NEA) website. The 3-hour PSI reading rose above 60 at 2pm on Friday, and went up steadily throughout the afternoon. Both indices are in the moderate range.

Noisy leh, in high fan speed mode. Medium speed is probably the limi for average sleepers. Light sleepers would find it noisy even in medium. Then they complain the air purifier doesn't work for their allergies etc...coz they leave it in low.

May be difficult to determine if HEPA filter needs changing from visual. It may be darkened from normal use but it'll continue to function.

Central spike to 58 ug/m3 PM2.5 detected for 1700hr reading (1600-1700hr period)

West South East 46-49 ug/m3.

My meter registering 50-55ug/m3 real-time.

They have a bigger version, SGD308 + $45 shipping. 37 sqm but airflow spec unknown.

I guess it's good for those who have modern contemporary décor and want a nice one to put in the living room or MBR, but hiam current Air Purifier designs to be too cold/utilitarian.

circular replacement filter don't know if can customise or not, though I know taobao got circular ones.
