Just updated my iPhone 6 Plus & iPad Air, will turn on beamforming and monitor to see if still dc.
I'll try too with my iPhone 6 and Air 2. But I have no trouble at all now (before IOS update) with Beamforming and Roaming Assist off.

With beamforming on, after 10 mins, I just saw my iPhone 6 Plus disappeared from the 5GHz log and reconnect immediately to 5GHz again :(

Will turn off beamforming and monitor.

BTW, I'm still on Merlin 378.51. Will wait for .53 before updating.

I'm running 4950, with 5Ghz fixes that won't be into Merlin until .52 or .53 (a few in each I think), so if anything is going to be good now this should be it! Let's see. I still had beamforming problems with 4950 and the previous IOS.

Are you using iOS?

iOS 8.3 is out today, here are some of the fixes:

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth fixes:
● Fixes an issue where you could be continuously prompted for login credentials
Addresses an issue where some devices disconnect intermittently from Wi-Fi networks
● Fixes an issue where hands-free phone calls could become disconnected
● Fixes an issue where audio playback could stop working with some bluetooth speakers

more here...

Not a ios user.. am using a note3 and tab s.
lots of wifi connected but no internet problems with both 2 devices.
this is with bf off and network rotation interval set to 0
Other devices ie NAS, server and media players r wired... so no issue

i do have an older ipad3 though.... no drop out on the 5ghz band. I suspect prob is with the ac ios devices

I realised for ios devices main prob is dc..... but for android its a different set of problem altogether. Its not dc... but wifi connected with no internet connectivity. Btw my android version is 4.4.2... i doubt is a OS related prob.

Therefore I've stated a few times here.... asus dId not acknowledge this problem.... and kept putting its effort on the ios issue only. @JK.. Please show some love for android users too K?

Hi Guys

Just saw a whole lot of error messages like these:

Apr 8 22:59:29 kernel: net_ratelimit: 10 callbacks suppressed
Apr 8 22:59:29 kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan10, fix it urgently!
Apr 8 22:59:29 kernel: Dead loop on virtual device vlan10, fix it urgently!

Please help!

Hi, could anyone help with this issue, and those I've mentioned previously?

It's very odd. That issue was supposed to have been fixed months ago with much earlier firmware. Not heard of any of those errors since. I could only suggest a hard reset and re-inputing of settings manually from scratch. Unless anyone has any other thoughts?

Seems to be same as it ever was - need both types of beamforming off for ac iDevices to stay connected in sleep. Don't know if 8.3 has improved behaviour with beamforming when awake. Have not had an issue with beamforming off since 4950, so don't know what else they might have done. 4950 said it had a "workaround" for iPhone, so maybe all that has happened is Asus can remove that?

Just updated to .4950...reset and configure the router...so far so good, just that connection for my MS Pro 3 is abit slower than .4608

But i still prefer .4376 version...more stable.

I Manage to solve it by switching off the main switch..

updated to 4950 because i find that my iphone 6 plus is not working well with my new ac87u that i just got ytd...

but after updating, the 5ghz is still not working well.. not much improvements.. maybe i would say no improvement at all.. facebook video is buffering when watched on HD, safari browsing loads really slow..

so now im attempting to update my iphone 6 plus firmware to 8.3..

will update the results here..

I've got one very cheap Android handset that came free with a contract, gathering dust in a cupboard. I could get it out and turn it on, but we don't use it for anything, so I'm not sure if it would be very helpful.

No worries... guess majority here are ios users. Not much love from Asus for Android ppl here.

Tried 378.4950 and IOS 8.3 with all 5Ghz beamforming on - iPad Air 2 disconnected in 15 mins. Turned off "ac beamforming", but left on "universal beamforming" - lasted another 15 mins. Turned both off and its been connected for the last 12 hours.

I think I can say for sure that 8.3 has done nothing for that problem! Luckily I don't really need it anyway!

I'm using .4950 ....everything seems stable and fine.

Just upgraded my iPad Mini 3 to iOS 8.3....video and games are smooth.
My android devices (mobile and tablet) are working fine too.

Noted: All devices are connected to 5Ghz.
